I've sold a few of them on ebay and they usually sell for around £3 to £10 each depending on what ones you've got.

A local antique shop has a basket full of the little Wade animals and is selling them for £2 each.

The prices on ebay do seem to vary depending on the animal, pigs seem to go well as I htink a lot of people collect pigs whether they are Wade or not. A quick search on Wade whimsies show some not selling at all like two lions unsold at £1.50 (7369057493), but a little terrier dog sold at 99p (7368930271).

Look though the completed items for lots more.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of value in them, but definitely worth a try and not just throwing out!

Might you get more for them if you grouped them into sets?

Probably not. A collector will be looking for a specific one and wont want to buy a whole set.

A bit off topic, but if only we could turn back the clock! I used to go to school in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, which was just down the road from the Wade factory. When we got bored we used to go and play outside the factory (think there was a hole in the fencing) and pick up pieces of Wade that had been thrown out as seconds, although we could never find anything wrong with them!

I know what you mean, my mum and dad are forever watching antiques roadshow and they always see toys on there that they had as children.

Makes me think twice when throwing out my old toys.
