Does anyone know anything about Wade? While cleaning out my OH's stuff from his parents attic i found about 20 of these. OH says they aren't worth anything as they came from Christmas crackers. Is this right? They are all marked Wade England. Is this where some Wade Figures came from?

Hi, From what i can remember seeing in my collectables books Wade figures are worth abit. Esp the ones from christmas crackers. Some animals are worth more than others.
There is a lot of fakes about so they way to find out for real is whether the bottom of the figure has an uneven edge (kinda resembles a crisp /\/\/\/\ kinda like that shape if that makes sense )
http://www.wadewhimsies.com/ is a interesting site with loads of different figurines to look at.
Hope this helps.

I have about 10 jungle animal types - Gorilla, Rhino, Leopard, Kangaroo, Koala, Dolphin, Penguin etc and about 10 dogs
A few have flat bases and these tend to have a thicker glazing. I might put them on as two job lots once i work out how to use Ebay.0 -
Sounds cool, Hope you are able to work Ebay out. Give a shout on here if you need help. Good Luck.

A lot of the wade whimsie figures are sold as "noahs ark" figures and go for a fair sum, especially if you have pairs or can sell several together.

As everyone before me has said....Wade is worth money. If you have a specialist auction house nearby then I would get them valued before I put them on e-bay then you know if you need a reserve or not.

We got a set of "piggies" from Natwest for our daughters which were "free" for saving but to buy a set now would cost about £200.
