Hello, I'm back. Anyone still here?
I am so very frustrated with myself. I forgot to settle my Virgin Media bill last week and as a result, I was cut off on Saturday morning at 9.00am. I didn't realise how much I rely on the internet for keeping in touch, keeping organised and generally socialising too. I managed to get online at my local library a couple of times but I've been really busy this week so haven't had time to sit and surf for long....
Anyway a brief resume. Saturday saw us go to football at Yeovil
Sunday was meant to be the morning the boys played a match but the other team couldn't make it. We ended up playing against each other in a training game. In the afternoon, the twins had a party on the other side of town and after taking them home at night, I popped down the pub for the quiz. Cost me nothing as we used the last of the free beer tokens from last week.
On Monday, I did the morning and evening post runs.
On Tuesday, I did the morning and evening post runs plus John and I managed to deliver more than 160 catalogues in 2.5 hours, super whizzo quick.
On Wednesday, I did the morning and evening post runs plus John delivered 190 catalogues on his own while I delivered more than 220 newspapers. I have had the boys since 1.30pm and took them back at 8.00pm tonight which was great. Sadly, found out that their mum introduced them to her new b/f last night only weeks after meeting him. Pretty sure she does it to wind me up, she knows I'd prefer it if she waited till the relationship was more settled and solid. This will be the fifth bloke she has been seeing since we split 3.5 years ago.
Anyway, spending diary.
Saturday - Gas £10.00, Electric £10.00, car parking at football £2.00, club shop £1.94
Sunday - Petrol £10.00
Monday - Petrol £5.00, Shopping £1.86
Tuesday - Virgin Media bill £64.47, Petrol £6.50, Gas £6.50
Wednesday - Petrol £15.00, Lunch £3.19, Shopping £6.27, Match Attax £4.00, McDonalds £5.78:mad:
Some naughties in there but I'm not happy to admit I've been down these past few days so when money came in, I wasted some of it. On Tuesday, I knew my WTC was due in but had no money for anything after paying my bill. Virgin took 18 hours to switch me back on plus I had no money for gas so I was really cold last night.
It has made me realise however that I cannot carry on like this. At forty years of age, I am so immature with how I spent the money I earn that I have to learn to budget better. Admittedly it will be tricky but I have to get away from the boom / bust in my own personal economy.
Basically, I'm going to turn over a complete new leaf on January 1st 2009 from when on I will try my hardest to be a more sensible spender generally. I also need to boost my incomings as well as reducing my outgoings too to help myself cope better with life. I will start making little changes between now and then to adjust to the new ways; only little changes here and there to sort myself out. I desperately need to simplify my finances too.
The tax is up on the car on Friday and the MOT is due next week. John, already letting me live in a house of his at reduced rate, employing me in order to pay the rent and also having helped considerably with the delivery of the catalogues, is lending me one of his cars when we go to our Haven cheap holiday next week. This means I have no need to spend out on tax / repairs and can relax a bit. We'll sit down and sort things out upon my return.
There, if you're still reading, well done. Make yourself a cuppa.:T0 -
finishes the cuppa whilst reading your last post.
I think you are doing well . If you want to improve your budgetting why don't you join in with some of the challenges here on the forum - great tips and very motivational:D
Hope you have a fun time at Haven.£2 savers club 2025 #40 -
Thanks Mickey....:T
Managed to get the final 110 papers out this morning followed closely by another 100 catalogues, this all being after the morning post run. Went shopping this evening and bought some bits and bobs for the football club's Halloween party tomorrow.
Shopping £38.65, Petrol £10.01 ( wasn't concentrating  ).
Tomorrow night, I'll total up everything I've spent this month. In terms of snacks and sweets, way too much have spent while my utility bills are a wee bit high presently too. I expect there'll be some shocks there but I'm ready for them....:eek:0 -
have a "spook"tacular time at the Halloween party:D
I am ready for any trick or treaters - got sweets in but just don't tell them where I live:rotfl:
