I suppose it would be better really.;) Just feels more "normal" buying them within a round. I normally make two pints last all night ( one cider, one orange juice and lemonade ) which would cost me about £5.40 so I'd save a couple of quid for sure.
Today, spent most of the day at my spiritual home ( Yeovil FC ) and managed to fit in the morning and evening post runs too. Tonight, came home and wrote a 900-word article for the programme. I still have three or four more to do this week.
Yeovil story
Went to my first match when I was three months short of my third birthday. Can't remember it but can easily remember watching them when I was five or six. I'm 40 now so it's been a long relationship with its ups and downs. Responsibility wise, I'm one of seven supporters reps ( a position that bridges the gap between supporters and the board ) and I also compile three articles at least for the programme plus another two that I have to organise the contributors for whcih can be a headache.
It's a love affair that will never end. If it was going to, it would have done so nine years ago when I moved 45 miles north of the town. It takes me almost an hour and a half to get there and costs me around £1,000 a year to follow them but I'd sleep in a box before giving them up...:eek:0 -

Yes, MM, I saw that. I used to go to Chard a lot when I lived in Yeovil. There were a couple of huge housing estates built in the late eighties and, as a sales rep for a building firm, I sold thousands of pounds of stuff into it. Different place now and they have a lot of immigrants living there now ( not always a bad thing ) and working at Hygrade, the meat factory....:D0 -
My bad, didn't update the blog yesterday....
Not much to upate it with tbh, spent £15.00 on petrol and £2.25 last night on "the munchies"... say no more.
Today have already had a haircut (£12.00), bought the twins some Match Attax albums (£9.98), a present for a friend of theirs whose party we're off to later (£9.32 inc wrap and cards) and £2.00 on parking.0 -
Just got back from skittles...lost again. Really not enjoying it and I'm umming and aahing about giving it up in the New Year. Doesn't cost very much but I had fifteen years of playing when I lived down south and it was more fun then too.
Spent £3.55 tonight and forgot to mention paying £15.00 to one of my creditors earlier...:T0 -
well done on the payment to your creditor:T
how about doing another hobby instead of the skittles? You could always do something with footie as you don't seem to do much with that:rotfl:£2 savers club 2025 #40 -

Legs ache tonight, old man that I am. Didn't get chance to do my paper round yesterday so had to do all three this morning. Finished all 350 papers at dinnertime....  and boy did I know it this afternoon...:o
This evening, have written four articles ( 2,100 words for the next two programmes ) and interviewed a famous comedian via email which was nice. No names, no pack drill, but a really nice guy who answered all my questions in just the right detail.
E-mailed a friend of mine tonight. I spotted a home study course online this afternoon that if I do it would enable me to take the first step towards getting a formal qualification in sports journalism.:T It will cost £650 but be worth every penny if I start writing for a living....:D
Today's spend was a tenner on petrol ( ten Clubcard points ) and £1.91 on a spot of shopping.0 -
To say today wasn't a no-spend day would be an under-statement of the highest order. I reckon that every waking hour I spent some money today, you can tell I just got paid, can't you?
Did the morning post run then went shopping then collected the boys from home and took them to school at 8.30am. Home, attacked some paperwork then after lunch, picked the boys up from school, fed them, took them to football training, bathed them and off to bed they went...:D
Ah well, here goes. Deep breath and begin....£64.00 on the twins birthday party ( their mum is paying half of this in two weeks time ), £29.35 shopping at Asda, £27.09 on my car insurance, £17.00 on two training coats for the boys ( they were actually £17 each but as I marked the pitch at the start of the season, the coach let me off paying for one ), £10.00 on a new quilt, £10.00 on petrol, £10.00 on gas card, £10.00 on the electric key, £6.00 on six horses for the forthcoming race night, £2.40 on Match Attax cards and £1.58 on lunch.
A friend of mine gave me his old but in good nick mobile two weeks ago when my one stopped working. I finally got a collection organised from Virgin earlier, the courier's coming tomorrow, so when my new one comes, I'll probably stick it on E-bay. It's only £30 new in the shops so if I get anything more than £20-£25, I'll be doing well.0
