Talk-Talk offer?

I had a call today from sales at "Talk-Talk". They offered me the monthly sum of £14.99 per month which includes free calls to landline numbers a percentage cut to mobiles and free call answer. If I don't end up saving money after transferring to them from BT 'Option 3', "THEY WILL GIVE ME £1000".
I asked for caller display to be included, which was £1.50 extra, bringing the whole monthly total to £16.49. Quarterly would be £49.47, as a comparison, as I presently pay my BT bill quarterly by cheque which is approximately
£75 - £85.
There is a 14 day cooling off period from the day of your application, however, it will be 7 days before you receive the contract for to read the offer and either commit or reject, thus leaving you only 7 days to decide.
You do have to ring the costly 0870 number below if you will to cancel the set-up.
The customer care number for Talk-Talk is 0870 087 8038
(note: be advised, it's an 0870 number)
I want to know if anyone has taken up this offer and whether it has been beneficial or is it too good to be true?
I have always been a BT customer (30+ years) and am somewhat cautious about moving without knowing the truth....

richard9991. Thanks for that info'. As you must be a Talk-Talk customer, is the contract that I have been offered got any flaws, (e.g. after 12 months does the charges go up), or is there hidden costs?0

Did you miss my post in the other thread ?
If you take Talk Talk Line Rental and Calls only you agree to two seperate 12 month contracts one for rental one, for calls.
Free Intl Calls are only available for a limited period. Normally its £3.95 a month.
Talk Talk charge £1.50p a month for caller display. BT of course offer it for free.
The Talk Talk tariff list shows a paper billing charge of £1.25 a month.
Talk Talk can and do block access to short codes like 18185/1899.
Cost of the deal you refer to goes up by £1 a month after 12 months.

You can get line rental, 24/7 inclusive 01/02/03 calls, mobile saver, free voicemail, and caller display from BT for £15.49 a month. IMHO your be better off sticking with BT.0 -
JHP.
Thanks for your very kind and detailed reply. I didn't see the other thread and just started this one to get a prompt reply.
I have looked at the details and may contact BT to negotiate a deal or offer, - Who knows; I might get lucky!!!!
Thanks to all who replied and their invaluable advice.
