Talk Talk Phoneline & AOL Broadband?

My Mum has just managed to get a better deal on her phone & broadband through reporting a fault with her connection speed.

When she called the AOL helpline she was told that her settings were incorrect & that she should have had a letter advising of the transfer of AOL to the Carphone Warehouse. When they changed over various settings also changed & she was never informed...:mad:

Since she is also a Talk Talk customer, she has been able to combine her broadband & phone for £19.99 pcm & gets a free laptop too!!:T

I strongly advise anyone in a similar situation to get on the phone & see what you can negotiate!

Please be aware this offer is not available for all areas, I just called after seeing this advertised and rang them, the cheapest I can get it for is £34.99.

I am already with aol on platinum at £29.99 and really not happy.

I have had a look at the comparison on this site and sky package looks good.

The Laptops are not FREE. They are included in bundle price.

In fact Carphone Warehouse, and others have stopped using the word "free" to promote laptop deals. This is because using the word "free" could be seen as misleading and fall foul of trading standards regulations.

There is no fault with her line. AOL are throttling speed on on peek hours. What plan was she on before. Also the laptop is not free. That deal without the laptop is £12.99 per month, though that depends on what area your from.

I was on the platiunum deal until yesterday. Now I'm paying £6.99 for exactly the same deal. How long have you been on the platiunum deal? Also do you use AOL Talk?

As I am finding out, it all depends on whether you have unbundled AOL on your phone exchange. If the answer is no, then you will not get a good deal with AOL anymore. But you can do much better than 29.99. Expect to get discount on your first few months but they will offer £17.99 for BB and anytime calls if you are not AOL unbundled.
