Royal Mail Surveys

I have recently joined the Royal Mail surveys and was just wondering what the Smart items were? and whether you have to buy/provide these yourself or they send these to you aswell?
Smarts are orange things with 4 letters on them that you include in test items that you send out to other people.
You dont buy them, they are sent to you usually from other panel members in their test items0 -

So the offer is open to anyone who wants to exchange theirs.
So you would be covering the postage involved in posting the swapped stamps in both directions ?
IMO would be easier for people who dont want large letter stamps and a reduction in their monetary value of reward to just say no to large letter stamps.0 -
.....anyone would think you had to pay for these wretched stamps! They're free, you're doing very little to earn them so be grateful!0

Fancy signing up just to say that:rolleyes:If you board the wrong train, it is no use running along the corridor in the other direction.

4 large stamps @ 52p = 2.08.
It's 12 x 1st class not 6 so we'll only lose 8p per month0 -
They usually have a number on the front of the mag or envelope & you record this online, if the number isn't there then you just click on other. You're supposed to send the whole thing back. Hope that makes sense - I know what I mean anyway
You don't need to send the whole magazine back. They told me before they only need the front page and wrapper sending back as it reduces there postage costs of the return envelope.

If people wanted me to send a first class stamp to cover the 'cost' of their postage, then yes, I would cover the postage both ways, because for me, large letter stamps are 'worth' more than the small ones.
Some of the comments in this thread just smack as being ungrateful... Its not like you have to do masses of work to 'earn' your stamps, yet for the moaning that goes on over losing 8p in value you would think that people were giving up half their life to the survey.
If you aren't happy with the rewards, just leave the panel, quite simple really, I imagine there are plenty of people who would like to be on it and grateful for any stamps they receive, yet their 'place' is taken by people who moan over bloody 8p!0 -

I believe the majority of people would rather receive both Six small first class stamps "and" the normal "monentary value" hence why I said the more people who state that they would rather receive as before the better for the "majority". ( lifes not just about you.)

Perhaps what IWtbF needs to do is this, which I found on the old thread. You can cash in some of your "small" stamps and use the proceeds to buy the large 1st stamps for your invites?
Royal Mail will buy the stamps back less 15% handling fee.
you need to get a form from a Main post office, send them off and they will send you a cheque less the 15% handling fee
i would send them by recorded delivery or get a proof of postage to prove that yopu send them in case they go astray in the wonderfull mailing system that we have

Or IWtbF can add the difference in postal cost to the small letter stamps he/she has in his/her possession, i.e at current rates add stamps to the value of 16p to his/her postings thus both avoiding any losses whats so ever and breaking forum rules. :j0
