Mini cash to Maxi Self Select

I currently have 2 years worth of mini cash ISA savings and I'd like to start investing in shares using a self select ISA. Would I be able to transfer my mini cash ISA balance over to a self select maxi isa in April next year?

The other option I'm considering is to continue using my mini cash isa next year, adding another 3k to it, and opening a mini self select ISA as well. Is this allowed? Do mini Self Selects exist? Would the mini self select be limited to 3k like a mini cash ISA or would I be allowed to use it up to 4K?

You cannot transfer cash to stocks and shares. If your Self Select ISA has a cash component, then you could transfer your existing ISAs into that cash component - although not sure there are Self Selects with a cash component around.

You can contribute to both a Mini Cash and Mini Stocks & Shares ISA. The Mini Stocks & Shares ISA limit is £4,000.
