Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Typical flat in outer london (zone 4/5) maybe £800 per month for a 1 or 2 bed with no parking/no garden. If you want to live in central then property is £silly.

Commuting cost from zone 5 into town every day (annual) £1656 - see http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tickets/faresandtickets/seasontickets/4805.aspx

Is this the sort of job where you can do work on the train home? Do you rent in Coventry or own? I would actually do the travelling - but we're all different.

Did Chiltern really give you those first class season prices? They abolished first class ages ago (though granted you could go first class for part of the way on cross country).
