Hi all
Just to confirm you gusy were correct in your responses to me. See quotes for chiltern below. sooooo expensive. At the momment £4600 is looking cheap from london midland even though i probbaly still couldnt take the job becuase its still to epensive to travel.......... prices of tickets for trains suck.

Origin: Warwick Parkway
Destination: London Euston
1) Route Restriction: Banbury
Type of ticket: Monthly
Price: £507.30 (Std class), £761.10 (1st class)
Type of ticket: Annual
Price: £5284 (Std class), £7928 (1st class)
2) Route Restriction: Any permitted
Type of ticket: Monthly
Price: £645.60 (Std class), £1013.40 (1st class)
Type of ticket: Annual
Price: £6724 (Std class), £10556 (1st class)0 -
Typical flat in outer london (zone 4/5) maybe £800 per month for a 1 or 2 bed with no parking/no garden. If you want to live in central then property is £silly.
Commuting cost from zone 5 into town every day (annual) £1656 - see http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tickets/faresandtickets/seasontickets/4805.aspx
Is this the sort of job where you can do work on the train home? Do you rent in Coventry or own? I would actually do the travelling - but we're all different.
Did Chiltern really give you those first class season prices? They abolished first class ages ago (though granted you could go first class for part of the way on cross country).0
