train from coventry to london (euston)

I need to travel from coventry to london euston, 4 days a week for work. just checked out the cost of a season ticket. Minium cost is £4600 and will take two hours... and thats off peak so that means i have to arrive in london after 10ish and leave london after 6pish..... that sucks...... i looked in to maybe getting a ticket to milton keynes and then a separate ticket from there to london.... but this worked out more expensive.

Not sure if anyone else knows how i can get a cheap ticket from coventry to london cheaper then £4600 a year.

I really doubt that you will get it any cheaper, though you do have the option of driving somewhere nearer in and getting a season from there.

Given that the cheapest advance purchase ticket is I think £10.50 each way £4600 is not that expensive for a journey of that length.

Covenrty > London is a Virgin Trains route and way expensive.

Depending upon your other means of transport - I can recommend going from Warwick Parkway with Chiltern Rail. It's a 15 minute trip from Coventry station to Warwick Parkway (just off the A46) and a journey time of 1.45

I know a day return to London with Chiltern is about £60 against Virgins £90-£100 so can only guess the season ticket will be much cheaper.

The alternative is to buy a monthly season ticket - a little more expensive but much more better for the cashflow.

Daventry????? The station closed in the 1960s if not earlier.

This is London Midland pricing hence the route "LDN MIDLAND"

Hi all

Thanks for all your responses... the job will give me a salary of 37.5k im currently on 28.2k. but after taxes, student loan and travel costs to london. im actually only a 100 pound better off and i have ot add 4 hours on to my day 2 hours getting there and two hours back if i got with london midland.

the salary is a big jump for me.. but it gets eaten up in my travel.

Just checked out cov to rugby season cost : 876.00

rugby to london : £4600

so that ain't gonna work...

gonna check out the chiltern option.
