Where is the cheapest property?

I'm prepared to re-locate anywhere in the UK, apart from North Of The Border!
Where would I get the greatest value for money? I'd be looking at a four bed property with between two and five acres of land.
I don't mind being a bit remote but would prefer to be within ten miles from a town or city.
Thanks
Dave

Some bits of N.Ireland are dirt cheap too (compared to south east England anyway). Maybe not your thing if you're not interested in going too far north, but NI is of course UK and you didn't say "not NI". If you want to have a cursory glance before deciding to dismiss or consider then www.propertynews.com is an excellent site on which many NI estate agents post the properties they are marketing.0

Depends on who is doing the considering...compare a one bed flat over a shop in Camden to a four bed detached house at the coast in N.Ireland. The one bedroom flat will likely be more expensive but will be the only conceivable choice for many people. If property price and what you get for your money is a person's only consideration then they will probably choose the house. I wouldn't want to live in central London myself, but then again it's a bit too quiet at the coast in N.Ireland. "Good location" means different things to different people.0

I live in Doncaster, south yorkshire . Prices here have been going up since about may/june 2002 they are starting to stabilise now.
There is an airport being built here to be open next year.

I'm sure you'll know this, but steer clear of the South of England completely.
