Just been to Boots... topped up my phone and hubby's phone (£20 each) and received 510 points... used a voucher from the machine for an extra 320 points for a spend of £40 or above... so in total got £8.30 back on my card....0

Why is this a 12% discount?
Normally when you spend at Boots and use your Advantage card you get 4p worth of points per pound spent. As this is treble points you're getting 12p per pound. Effectively this is a bit like a 12% discount (or an 8% extra discount).
What's it good for?
If you've got any shopping planned in Boots this is the perfect time to do it, remember though you need to spend £15. Of course Boots isn't the cheapest shop out there, so it's worth comparing its prices with the extra points to the likes of Superdrug or better still the very cheap Savers centres.
Special Note for PAYG Mobile phone users
Normally its difficult to get discounts on top-ups. Yet as Boots points apply this means its a very effective mechanism and the perfect time to top up.
Note for nerds
Yes i know technically it isn't really a 12% discount, as the points are an addition. Therefore its actually the reciprocal discount at 10.8%. However as that'd really confuse lots of non maths nerds, I decided to make it seem simple.

I also have a triple points voucher, do you think it will triple the instore triple points offer?
thanks for sharing the tip.0 -
I had a double points voucher and tried to use that to double the triple points, but they wouldn't let me use it.....0
-
I can't see why if the voucher is in date. I was wondering if the triple points would be tripled with a triple points voucher or just tripe the spent amount twice.0

The voucher is in date... but the till just wouldn't accept it
the assistant said something about not accepting two offers at the same time... but I've still got 11 more days to try again

Where do you get triple points vouchers from? They wouldn`t let me use my double points coupon earlier today either.0

"On Phone top up cards you will collect 4 points per £1, points cannot be spent on this item".
Which is a shame because I have used this loophole a couple of times.
I topped up my O2 phone with £30 today.
I got a 300 points voucher out of the machine for spending £30.
And received 360 points for triple points.
So altogether received 660points for my £30 credit. :beer:0 -
Good feedback elsewhere on these forums for the Creative ZEN touch 20gb MP3 player.
£149.99 at Boots
less 3299 points (£33) as I found a "1500 points free code" as well for a >£100 spend!
£117 for a 20gb mp3 player! LOL________________________________________
Explain yourself Mr. N. Loggin. :mad:0 -

I was only allowed to use a 10% off voucher today as I couldn't make the £15 limit, I've NEVER been able to use a Double Points coupon on a Triple Points days and our branch usually REMOVES the *extra points for spending over £X* off the machine as well. One time I was at the Retail Park and they'd forgotten to take the total spend things off the machine so I got a shedload of points.
I will only have 11 days in which to get BOTH uses of my Double Points coupon in, argh I'm running out of things to buy and I'm getting berated on another forum for spending so much.
I've been topping up my phone @ Boots for YEARS btw, I don't think I've ever put money on it anywhere else.my advantage_card is like gold dush0
