Snowman Soup Questions (merged)

Just a quick question, Do you fill the cone with chocolate powder?, or do you actually make-up a cup of drinking chocolate and pour that in?.
I need to know pretty quickly as I will be making these with my Beaver Scouts tomorrow.
You put powder in - a cup of hot chocolate wouldn't last long in a cellophane bag.0 -
Yummymummy, how big are the tins of choccy powder in your piccy? (need to make sure I bought enough).

I used a teaspoon to put 6 heaped teaspoons in a cone (don't fill it you will use loads). After the first one I just filled the remaining ones up to the same level, stood them in a cup to make filling easier.
If you are doing with Beavers I would suggest that you measure out the drinking chocolate into a plastic cup (like a party cup, clear would be ideal) and mark the required level on the side with a pen. Do this with several cups then all the children need to do is spoon in the chocolate to the required level and tip into the cone. If they work as a pair one could hold the bag open whilst the other pour it in.
Not sure if this has answered your question. Good luck. Let us know how you get on.0 -

400g They were only 54p a tub so I do not mind buying more if I run out. I figured these things are gonna be so sickly anyway, cheapo drinking choco may even be better. Once all the choc chips have melted in with the marshmallows, no-one is gonna notice the quality of the drinking chocolate.
Anyway, I am doing mine for the teachers and teaching assistants so I don`t really care !! I can`t imagine them in the staff room comparing snowman soup quality. lol0 -
B&M Bargains is selling marshmallows in a cute tub for £1.29. Others have found them at H&B too. I would have thought Tesco would sell them. I think they sell at least the white ones...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
