Basically you sign up to get a printable voucher for 2-4-1 meals at Little Chef. Looking at their new prices (they used to be pretty dear) it seems like a great deal to me, since I have to travel to Cornwall from Durham (and back)!

I started a thread HERE for this offer a couple of weeks ago but it didn't seem to attract much attention! This space has been intentionally left blank0

I'm sure this is a good deal but can I just mention my anger at what they charge for orange juice.
For a tiny 150ml they charge £1.75. They use the same brand we buy at work and so I can calculate the cost to them at 9p.
Which means a profit margin of 1,850% (Does anybody know of a greater margin charged on any food or drink?)
We've decided something has gone badly wrong following the recent buy-out and have decided not to go back.0 -
I've been avoiding Little Chefs for a while as the menu had such limited choice for vegetarians. I'm really surprised and happy to see the new "price crash" menu as it includes things such as panninis and jacket potatoes. Disappointed that it only occurs in the restaurants not attached to service stations though. Still means that eating when travelling is going to bankrupt me0

Just had a look at the new menus and as another veggy, I agree that there seems to be an improvement.
Just one gripe however, the menu refers to "All Paninis", when the plural is panani. The singular is panino! Being a grumpy old man, this is precisely the kind of thing that makes me not bother with a compnay!
Last time I went into a Little Chef (in the summer), the service and quality of the food was so bad and we had to wait for so long to get a bill that in the end we just left what we thought it was worth on the counter and walked out!
My suspicion with companies that make little effort to ensure correct grammar on their advertising is that they make little effort in other areas aswell. I am not claiming to be an expert in the English language but if I am not sure, I would always get it double-checked before going to press.
Oh and by the way, while I am on a rant. can people PLEASE stop referring to EUROS with an S on the end. The plural is EURO. (Don't believe me? Look on the reverse of a 5/10/20/50 Euro note).
I also (slightly) disagee with Stewarthenry regarding the cost of OJ. If it is genuine Orange Juice then £1.75 is a fair price considering the cost of service/facilities etc. However the last Little Chef OJ I had was some really awful powdered concoction which was not worth even the 9p!0 -
We use the same restaurant on a regular basis and since the take over have found that some, not all, of their meals are very good both in content and price. I think it must be realised that they are a fast food outlet and not a five star Eagon Roney restaurant

I don't use Little Thiefs unless I need a big breakfast. Lard fest.Happy chappy0 -
We used the travelodge-for-a-tenner/little chef combination in September and found that little chef ranged from excellent food and service to poor food once and poor service on 4 occasions (trying to pay also took a bit patience half the time).
Had breakfast and dinner there (6 of each).
We are veggie too and were not expecting much (didn't go elsewhere as it was working out cheap using vouchers/discounts and convenient at that time due to our domestic factors) but quite pleased overall (not greatest choice for us but food was usually OK).0 -

If only things in the weird and wonderful world of the European Commission were that easy!
A quick search of the internet will show you what a vexed issue this is (put the words plural and Euro into Google if you want to check), but if you're going to stick to Euro as the plural of Euro, make sure you use Cent as the plural of Cent to be consistent!
It's a mad mad mad mad world out there in Euroland.0 -
Little chef are expensive - fact, they offer basic food - fact, but if you need to eat and are travelling there are far worse places to eat. Saying that I still prefer my own homemade sandwiches, crisps, flask of tea and sugar free sweets. There is no need to run outside

I have to travel and stay overnight for hospital visits
but found the Tragelodge special offers great - even got a couple of Tennertastic nights this year - I've found the change of ownership with the Little Chef has improved things especially in the last 2 months. The food is cheaper (and even cheaper with the voucher!) Ok so it's not a 5* restaurant - but the food is edible, the portion size seems to have increased, and it's hot !! The service seems to be improving too - at least they are acknolwedging that they are a fast food/convenience eatery as opposed to the delusions of The Ritz they did labour under !!
What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0
