Hi,
I am trying to reduce my outgoings (so is everyone I know), I currently have
Sky TV basic package £17.00 per month
Virgin (non-cable) Phone & BB bundle £20.00 per month
BT line rental £10.50
From what I understand reading the threads on here, I could transfer everything to Sky as the phone and BB is free and line rental only £10.00. Could I also do the above via Quido and make a little bit for myself.
I moved last year from a cable area to non-cable and was still in contract with Virgin, as I had to change to non-cable would this have created me a new contract (this was DEC07), therefore am I currently tied in and if so, wouldn't I still be better off if I do have to pay a leaving fee.
I am really happy with Virgin service and concerned a may make a mistake by leaving, but I need to put finances first.
Any advice on the above would be gratefully received.
Jembeth

sky basic package - you can get bb and free evening and weekend calls included with sky for the same £17. You still have to pay bt for your line rental. An extra fiver a month gives you free anytime calls.
What does the £20 cover and could you cancel it and make do with the above. Saving £20 a monthmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I think Virgin is only free weekends so I would be better off. I just need to get through to them to find out if I get a termination charge.0

Hi
I have just finished on the phone to Sky to try and do something similar to you ie reducing costs (i have broadband with Orange17.99per month, calls and line rental with talk talk 15.00pm, sky basic package20.00pm) sky came back offering all 4 for 47.00 pm as there is no free broadband in my area - I am sick of these companies offering great deals to find that everytime, they are not available for me.
They were very unhelpful and not interested in my custom, told me that I would have to take out an additional subscription to use my sky in our caravan otherwise it wouldnt work (which is not true, it works fine, even in France.. we just take the box with us). SKy seem only interested in money money money and not customer care.
Very disappointed
If anyone know of any good ideas, please let me know.0 -
Thanks for the replys, since it is free I am going to give it a go, it is pointless me spending out on Virgin when I am entitled to bb from Sky. I phoned and only have 6 weeks on my contract, they said they could post date it for me if I want to get things moving, charming, so much for trying to keep my business. I thought virgin were supposed to be encouraging people to stay.0
