But if it's part of the terms and conditions, that you sign up to, that the discounts only apply to bills other than a final bill, then that's a contractual agreement and there's nothing legally wrong with it.

It doesn't matter what you think about its fairness or otherwise - it's legally ok.

Is there anything to stop you calling up with a read a week or less before you leave them and asking for a bill?
The the 'final bill' is only for a short time, and the lost discounts minimised.

That said if you're going to spend the effort on this you'll probably be able to get the 'goodwill gesture' out of them.
  • bristolleedsfan they apply an ex-gratia payment to your account rather than amendng the actual unit prices on the bill. If you don't have a credit showing on your account you will need to call them again (or reply to their earlier email)

Thanks, guess what Im trying to highlight is why do people have to keep contacting E.O.N about the same thing, _pale_ some people wouldnt be able to keep chasing for numerous reasons.

If their Ts&Cs state that discounts are null and void when moving then I suspect the chance is slim. They have no reason for a 'goodwill gesture' if you're going to leave anyway. Good luck though.

Yes I agree. I'd hope in the vast majority of cases it works well. Human error or lack of knowledge sometimes have an impact.
