NEC 343i - O2

I recently got a NEC 343i - O2 - Pay As You Go Mobile Phone. Great wee phone, the only problem I have is once I have sent a text message it displays the balance and vibrates. I don't mind it displaying the balance, but how do I get it to stop vibrating?! I've switched 'vibrate' off in all the modes (car, normal, meeting etc) but it still does it. Is it just a built in thing?!

my last 02 phone did it too and i couldnt turn it off..maybe its just an o2 thing?Fr. Stack: While you were out, I got the keys to your car. And drove it into a big wall. And if you don't like it, tough. I've had my fun, and that's all that matters.0

sorry I can't be of much help! but i was wondering, as you own the 343i, what is the phone's good & bad points? i'm looking at getting one myself as it seems fairly good value! does it have a loud speaker?0

As someone who has recently worked for O2 I would have to say that the NEC is my favourite of the new imode handsets. The camera is basic but other than that everything else on the phone is the same as the more expensive handsets.0

well i thought it was a gorgeous phone until i discovered to b/t or infrared and poor memory so that ruled it out for me-10/10 for the design though. mind you for a basic phone @ £29.99 on the o2 student site you cant moan i spose.Fr. Cracking phone for the money. Nice to have something different from the normal Nokia's. Great menus, quick and responsive. Nice screen. imode is good as is the email facility. Feels great in the hand and everyone comments on it. Poor choice of inbuild polyphonics.
Sure camera isnt the best but I dont use cameras anyway.
Best phone Ive had in years.

Does anyone know if the phone can easily be unlocked to all networks??0

as far as i know this phone cannot be remote unlocked as yet, it needs to be done by cable. you could check with your local unlocking place- meanwhile if you are up on unlocking software this site explains it to the technically minded

as it is such a new model i think you will have difficulty at the minute getting it unlocked, but get the yellow pages out and have a ring round, L.Fr.
