If you have done or are doing the Bcs Psychology course you may beable to help me! I am a first sememster first year student and am going round in circles can anyone let me have or tell me where I can find a copy of : Bower GH, Black JB & Turner TJ. 1969. 'Scripts in Memory for Text' Cognitive Psychology 11 P177-220. I am also looking for comparable experiments that either support or refute the outcome of the bower experiment.
    Any help is much appreciated.

give me a bit more info 'cos it rings a bell.... cue dependent memory? something like that? outline what info you got in a PM as i might be able to help with info - obviously not got the original paper :D
  • Yes, please post more about the orig Bower experiment, and maybe we can help. Also, you haven't said whether you tried the earlier poster's recommendation of typing 'Bower memory' into Google.

(I don't like to boast, but I have a BA(Hons), MSc and MBA all obtained by studying whilst working. Some of these are from VERY reputable institutions. So I'm a bit of a master of stripping volumes and libraries quickly to get at the information you actually NEED for an informed argument or dissertation. Grumpyoldgit is right: although you might take his comment as being a bit grumpy he's made an incredibly insightful comment - as a first year student one of the best things you can ever learn is how to 'gut' the research on the subject you are researching, extract the arguements, and contribute your own thoughts, research and knowledge on the subject :D You've made a brilliant start by coming here - this website is a source of ALL SORTS of knowledge! :p)
