:T Oh, if they were in my tea I'd have wolfed them down
Sorry to gross everyone out!
Nyk, OH was riding a mountain bike sadly, still working on the horses. There was loads of riding gear for sale at the car boot today and it was all I could do to stop myself going up for a sniff :rotfl:I had to console myself with a deep inhalation as I walked past (if you don't 'do' horses, this will seem a little odd;if you do, you'll know exactly what I meanhonest
)
I'm not well enough to give OH his massage which I'm very disappointed about so I'm going to shell out on a professional one for him - not very frugal but he is worth it. And so am I, as it takes the pressure off, then I can give him one when I find some energy.
What a beautiful day! Hope you're feeling a little better today BB xx
Bails i have a DD, DD's bedroom, all her clothes and occasionally my car which all smell very horsey, not to mention all the bits of straw that magically appear around the house and in the shower etc:p and the tack that gets brought home for cleaning:rolleyes: .........OH alwys complains about the horsey pong but I love it:o I miss my horse.0 -
When I work with horses once a week and get to groom them I have to admit that apart from kissing them I do have a good sniff as well."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

cw any mini holiday with my SIL would only be for 2-3 days max until the roads were clear again. I have 3 (and possibly 4) darling moggies to consider
I am considering taking the counsellor's advice and thinking about me. It's really hard when I am so used to thinking about everyone else.
I might go to my sister's in the Eastern Bloc for Christmas :T Guaranteed snow and I could have a go at skiing :rotfl:
DH and I always had the family for Christmas and he cooked huge feasts.
When I put the idea to DS1 and DS2 they thought it was a great suggestion.
Then DS2 phoned up and suggested that himself,DIL and SOME FRIENDS   look after the house while I am away
Oh no...central heating on 24hrs a day. My freezer a gaping empty hole. My alcohol store gone. My logs burnt. My electricity bill rocketing skywards.
And I will have to blitz the place before I leave

Dinner was great no-one guessed how cheap it was!
Our friends bought wine, flowers and a huge box of lovely veg, so I'm well happy and meals orted for next few days; cauliflower cheese; potato and bacon bake; vegetable lasagne................................................0 -

But there again, would it save you on cattery fees? And if so, how do the two compare (especially given it means the house wouldn't be empty)Cheryl0 -
Hello again,
I just got a new guinea pig. Yes I have now 5 and I think I said yes for two more so that would bring it up to seven.
On that note, night night,

Janey, I was tempted to say no in the first instance, but then the more I thought about it, the more I reconsidered and have decided my answer wuld be yes, but only if they provide their own food and keep an eye on the place and feed the cats. The jump in electricity would be less than cattery fees even if it was only for a few days, and think of what might be leftover from groceries for that lot! They'll over spend, buy too much and then, chyances are they'll just leave all the extras for you. You couold come out 'quids in'
I can't help but think your DS, DIL & friends will have a fantastic time, as there aren't many opportunities for having a friends 'sleepover' at Christmas and I think I'd have loved the chance to have one. Come to think of it, I'd still think it was brilliant! :rotfl:
Thanks to the dry day, I've managed to get all the bedding line dried today plus got a fair bit of gardening done. All the brocolli stalks, old pepper plants and finished tomato plants have been pulled up and moved to the compost heap and we have dismantled the greenhouse so it's ready for the move. It'll need to double up as a wood store this winter until we get things at the new place organised. I'll need a couple of pallets for stacking the logs on but they are usually relatively easy to come by.
Oh, that reminds me! Someone mentioned log store from pallets, I forgot to reply! We did this before - pallet flat on the ground, 4 posts - one each corner, pallets on 3 sides and you can stack them 2 high with one as a 'shelf' in between, and then just throw a hap across the top and it works fine - plenty air about them and the worst of the rain kept off by the hap. I think ours was covered with a piece off a lorry tarpaulin that we found attached to a barbed wire fence. :rotfl:
I've listed another box of books on G*mtree but don't hold out much hope of selling them. I think I may try to make a trip to the charity shop tomorrow and make a donation there. In fact, I think I'll go and start packing my clothes so I can see if there's anything else can go. That way, I can pop into the estate agents whilst in town and find out if we are any closer to getting an entry date.I might even spot some bargains in town - like a room sized off cut of cushionfloor vinyl for the new bathroom.
Speaking of which, anyone want a bathroom suite? I'll not be needing it since the plot with a roof located across the river with no bridge deal fell through.
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Just spotted Marru's latest post - you'll end up with 7 guinea pigs?? But that's an odd number! :rotfl: At this rate you're going to HAVE to move house to have more space for the menagerie that's establishing itself in your office.I reserve the right not to spend.

What a busy day everyone has had - makes me feel a bit guilty. I am on holiday this week, so had a trip to the cinema with bf this afternoon, been doing some comps and went to church. Going to start tidying out the kitchen cupboards tomorrow as I think there are plenty of things that could do with being used up.0
