I'm pretty sure it's not what you're thinking Nyk but feel free to guess and I'll tell you if you're right
Hee hee!
Yeah! Guessing games! :T
Umm, hmm... where would I start....
Self-employment! :j You decided to go down the work from home route and then you know nobody can pay you off and you can take holidays anytime you want and write off a percentage of your overheads on your self-assessment tax return?
You got a huge tax rebate?
You secretly got married and a long-forgotten uncle gifted you his fortune?
You won a huge sum of money?
You inherited a vast estate and millions of pounds?
You're selling up lock, stock and barrel to live a life on the road?
You joined a commune?
You've rented the house next door to mine on the farm and are moving to Scotland next week??
There's a frugalmite on the way????
Heeeeeelp..... please may we have a clue? :rotfl: :rotfl:
Back again - or what BB said
Oh, oh! You found a grant that let's you travel far off places AND teaching village kids along the way, so you went for a book deal to publish your future diaries and OH is doing the photography & illustrations. (Still thinking...)I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Brilliant! No clues, this is far more fun!Self-employment! :j You decided to go down the work from home route and then you know nobody can pay you off and you can take holidays anytime you want and write off a percentage of your overheads on your self-assessment tax return? I have been looking into this a fair bit - I'd like to set up my own mini school with a creative curriculum...
You got a huge tax rebate? Nope, although I might be owed a few pounds (will check)
You secretly got married and a long-forgotten uncle gifted you his fortune? ha ha, no chance - my uncle is a multi millionaire and didn't even come to my brother's wedding
You won a huge sum of money? Uh-uh
You inherited a vast estate and millions of pounds? cold, very cold
You're selling up lock, stock and barrel to live a life on the road? warmer

How about ... your OH has decided to use his master qual and is possibly going on a year's voluntary project (with expenses paid for 2) somewhere like India/nepal etc to build useful things.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0

Hee hee, and the winner is... BB! It's not in any way sorted yet but this is something he's always wanted to do (we both worked for SPW on our gap years, in Zimabawe and Nepal). So either an engineering project using his sustainable development skills or working as a shiastu practioner. India or Africa are the obvious options but who knows! I can continue my recovery as well there as here, if not better with all the sunshine
Fingers crossed it can happen!

Bails, I can't grant wishes but what I can do is say that if this is something that you really, really want then plan for it as though it's already happened and that way, it's far less likely to not happen, even if it happens slightly differently to how you first thought.
I'm following all the thought processes - along the lines of India, student research grant or bursary of some description, involves teaching and it must involve a full year if it would render the challenge as non-applicable.
We must be getting pretty warm now, please? My thermometer has dropped below 14C and I'm in the warmest room in the house unless you count the garden!
OOPS! Posted same time as Bails, but that's brilliant news!I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

I was going to guess VSO or similar but everyone has beaten me to it!! :rotfl: :T
I'd love to do something like this... (jealous) sigh... Now thats got to be the best reason not to set the budget yet - who knows what currency it'll be in
£4000 = 309,442.21 Rupees (sounds scary though much better than 4000 rupees (£51-83)) :rotfl:
Ohhhhh I've just realised that my name here is the name of the bangladeshee (sp?) currency :rotfl: Can you tell I'm bored at work at the moment?
