Claireabelle, your doing a lot of debt busting at the mo, everytime i read one of your posts, you've made another big leap. Its great and inspiring to read, so well done to you and keep going.

I won't be posting tomorrow as i will be at work and then college all day so will not get a chance to post, as i try desperately to get to my course before it starts!

Fay, that's an impressive list too, you know!! Very cleverly andan is organising us to be better DFWs :D

I'm waiting for my paypal money to land then I should almost have cleared that naughty amount. Just hope the original spend and payments all happen in the same credit card month.

  • Hi All,

Just had a wee read through some of your posts and you're all really inspiring me to get saving!! So I thought I'd join in too!

The weather here's awful too! But I've had quite a productive day on the DFW front! today I have:

-Eaten both breakfast and lunch at home instead of buying
-Posted my old mobile to a buy back site - now just waiting on the lovely cheque
-Sold and posted one of my old uni text books which has been gathering dust for 4 years
-Banked £10 in my "saving £2 coins" tin, as well as another 40p in my 20p tin

I've also joined the NSD challenge for October, and am aiming high for my first full month (gonna try for 20 days). And I've also started a money diary to try and figure what else I can cut back on - plus, I'm hoping that if I have to write down everything I spend - it might put me off spending it! :P

Can't think of anything else, have a couple of quick questions though:

What are "free clicks" and "quidco"

Hope you all have a lovely night

Checked online banking and moved money from saving account to current account in time for tomorrow's direct debits.
    Took lunch to work
Walked to and from the station
Found 7p in the street. I thought I might have found 8p but what I thought was a penny turned out to be a very soggy chocolate button. Yuk! :-(
Debt free since December 2015. It can be done

  • Went to my manager's seminar, had a lovely buffet lunch provided by work, and lots of cups of coffee (and chocolates;) ) Not a day for watching the calories but very dfw.

Shared travel with another manager to cut costs but will get expenses back anyway for petrol.

Thread has been busy today:D well done everyone on all your dfw stuff.

  • Hi everyone

    • lunch at work free
    • applied for new job ( but not very hopeful)
    • tea from storecupboard and cooked by DH
    • DSs football cancelled so didn't 'have to' go to shop while he was there
    • free fringe trim - think it's wonky though!

Nice to see old and new friends on here
    Belle
    Getting there...slowly! :D

    GC : must do better
    NSD: very rare

No matter how slow I go I am lapping everyone on the couch.

  • Evening all. My things today were:

    * Picked up a penny! (Every little helps......right?)
    * Made enquiries about weekly & monthly saver bus tickets - will buy a monthly one tomorrow
    * Made a meal planner for the coming 7 days
    * Got a lift home tonight (so no bus fare!)
    * Added a few coppers/5p to my loose change savings jar (I bank it every so often)
    * Took a long Winter coat someone gave me to a lady who does alterations to have it taken in....will cost me about £20 max....much cheaper than a new coat! (And it's lovely.)
    * Scraped out dregs of conditioner from a bottle rather than rinsing & recycling...I was surprised how much I got out actually! (I should know by now....it's a basic DFW trick isn't it!)
Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
    Sainsburys Loan: Cleared July 2010
Credit cards: AMEX Airmiles Card: direct debit set to clear balance monthly
