No, I'm afraid. It is only for icelandic citizen's not UK. UK savings is protected under FSA 50K scheme.

Is it still ok to transfer all my saving from KE to another bank now? Has anyone already done yet?

Why would there be an issue? What do you think has happened? the bank is trading normally, shares suspended to allow the full details of any deal to come out.

A&L as it is the link account (no other choice). and then move it to my e-saving account in natwest (i think it should be 6.50%). now, I am not sure when this money will be transferred to A&L if I do it tomorrow. any ideas!

To stop us getting bored with the same threads over and over, how about a competition?

Question 1 - Person A has a major panic and transfers all their cash out of their Icesave account via CHAPS paying £30. Who gets the £30?

Question 2 - Person B has a minor panic and transfers all their cash out of their Kaupthing account via BACS. It is shown as leaving their account on Monday and arrives in their Northern Rock account on Thursday. Who is holding the money on Tuesday & Wednesday?

Please post your answers below. A winner will be selected and will win a prize of 1 Landsbanki share or bu**er all (depending on which has the lower value ;) )
