We taking odds on the drop on FTSE. my guess....4300-4500 until bail out goes through when it will climb back through 5000 again.
I hope that's not your punters' dough that you're ploughing into index derivatives!
Doesn't your advice come with a caveat any more?!
Some of us are still nursing the losses from your reassurance that the B&B has "enough money to last until the end of 2009"!"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."

What advice? Some of us are still nursing the losses from your reassurance that the B&B has "enough money to last until the end of 2009"!

You beat me to it Aegis. The only losses that will be felt will be by shareholders, not depositors, I don't recall Dunstonh ever recommending anyone to buy their shares.Liquidity is when you look at your investment portfolio and **** your pants0

The IFA tag in my sig attracts the trolls....
At least Europe hasnt reacted as strongly as the US did on the markets. Perhaps yesterday's drop factored a lot of it in with anticipation of failure?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I don't recall Dunstonh ever recommending anyone to buy their shares.
Dunstonh's throw-away remark that the B&B had "cash to last until end of 2009" possibly persuaded people not to sell their shares!
Never mind, it's only money.
But it does serves to demonstrate one should exercise extreme caution when following anybody's advice, including advice from an IFA."If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."

Believe it or not, IFAs can't see into the future.
B & B did have enough capital to see them through, but of course when a run on the bank looked likely that changed.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -
I know there is justifable resentment against financial institutions who have been mismanaged but do those who voted against the rescue plan realise the consequences of their actions? We are talking about undermining the efforts of European banks to stabilise the situation. This could cause a global meltdown. I am not drinking at the moment but I might start.0

IFA's don't give specific share advice - for that you need a stockbroker - or the 'Daily Mail' or some such.
Good luck!
And always 'DYOR'....

PS - if I had shares in a Company and someone said 'they had sufficient money to last till end-2009', I'd have been out of there like a shot - to me that would been already past the optimum time to dump those shares!0 -
Don't do that I thought they had bounced it again.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is.
