Gallygirl - I admit to the weakness of the car but she is anything but flash presently as a good clean is required :o

Current a/c change can be traumatic, hope the various parties involved can resolve.

OK, more DD's are appearing on A&L account every day so I am hoping all will be well. I have cancelled my Tesco's CC DD from old account as that would have gone over the OD limit & I still have time to pay by phone before deadline if not set up with A&L.

Payday tomorrow :jbut won't make an OP till bank is sorted out, but will be done by this time next week. Feels like ages since I have made one.

    em, that's it really :o.

PS cleaner just phoned to say she will be off for foreseeable future as sick. Hope she is better soon, in the meantime I will have to clean up myself  but will make OP's of £16 a week - will make 1st one now so that will be a start.

:jDK if anyone here signed up to do reviews on qype? Basically a 'points make prizes' site where you review shops & services. I worked through the required number to get gifts, including an ipod. These obviously have not turned up yet as it was only last week, and TBH I was abit dubious. Howver, there was also a £50 Amazon voucher for doing so many (I think it was 50). This obviously was too good to be true.

Except it wasn't :j. E-voucher turned up today, duly used and 9 books on their way for a total cost to me of £10.90, of which DD owes me £25.50 for 3 books, so I am actually in profit and with 6 books for Xmas :T. Am really, really chuffed :D.

Also got £34 from mystery shopping and £6 from Green Metropolis so a good day all round :T. £40 to offset tomorrow :D.

On the downside, one tenant is moving out on Tuesday and needs her deposit back. And she didn't let me know in time to put ad in property pages so is going in tomorrow night, here's hoping there are some takers. I could have insisted on a formal notic period, however she has been a good tenant and had told me she would be going soon. Plus gas safety cert & house insurance due.

It seems at the moment it's one step forward and a couple of leaps backwards . Still, nil desperandum.

That is quite some total, well done!
Am I correct to assume that you've done the bulk of what was possible now on "Qype" and henceforth you would only get a lower amount per month?

Stuart you need 1000 points to reach Ninja status (Ipod :D and chocolate Ninja :j), this was v easy as you get 20 points if you are the 1st person to review a place (getting harder to find - a LOT of MSE'rs on there!) This was complicated by an Amazon offer of £50 voucher which you had to sign up to & do 50 reviews by end of November - unfortunately I didn't spot this at first so have ended up doing over 60. Currently have over 1300 points, but highest reward band currently is 1000 so will wait to see what they do next. As I have said earlier, it is open to abuse but I've only reviewed companies/outlets I have been to or used, and I have done some (and will continue to do so) even although no more targets to aim for.

My finances are a total mess at the moment (Stuart & FB you would both have a fit!) I have money coming out of the wrong account, mortgages paid for by debit card, cash to pay for NY trip :j, cash to give deposit back to tenant moving out, money owed by mum's estate to offset, money owed by mum's estate to me, money in transit taken out of offset to make up for cash taken out of bank to pay deposit back (except I can't remember what account I've sent it to:eek:) I don't know where to start. So I have decided, apart from checking to make sure no rogue transactions, to not attempt to reconcile accounts till next weekend. Not happy, but seems most stress free situation at the moment.

This may change as I am having an admin & housework day tomorrow (distract me someone please :o), so will hopefully be a bit more organised. Amongst the things I need to sort out is fuel bill - I think I have missed a bill somewhere so need to sort that out (payments by monthly DD's so no money due). I will treat myself by emptying peefer the mortgage pig so at least there will be one payment heading offset's way.

I have complete sympathy for you; as you say, perhaps just list the things on paper and check them off in a week's time. Hopefully everything will be sorted for you by the middle of the month so you can have a clear month end / annual review to start 2009 nice and clean?
