Advice re tesco

I have a tesco chip payg had for years and want to keep my nu, but wanted to have the samsung G600 so brought it from my catalog it was 02 although the phone works only some bits work not all the phone ,

So I notice that tesco now have on offer for tesco mobile the G600 and as I pay £15 a month on d/d they only take £13.50 out and I am in credit to the tune of £91 so I don't use it as often as I did so I asked for my credit back they said no , asked to buy the tesco phone samsung G600 with the credit they said no , asked what would happen if I cancelled my dd and just used the credit up , told my tariff would stay the same for a month then calls would cost more .

so am I left with options of asking for the pac nu and move to 02
or try to get the phone unlocked if so how .
my daughter who is on 02 said she was going to buy my phone off me if I got the tesco one with the amount of credit I have.

Most O2 phone are unlocked ?
When you say 'only some bit work' which bits do you mean ?
Do you realise that setting have to be changed for each network ? If it's O2 branded when all the setting will point to O2. If you call Tesco they should be able to send their setting out as texts which will auto install in the phone. That should get everything working for you...

After I put the tesco chip in a few days later I got a text from tesco saying they have sent me tesco wap & mms settings I take it was automatic .

I can make and receive calls and make and receive text but it does not open photo's sent to me .also it will let me search the net but not download anything ie wanted a new ringtone .so son downloaded one onto his phone for me but it would not let him transfer it to me .
After speaking to a supervisor they agreed to send me £50 in tesco vouchers off my
credit and a £10 upgrade for me to buy a new tesco phone not at any time did he suggest this phone would work .

but you think it should .

It sounds like you don't have the right setting on your acc at the Tesco end. Ask them to check you've got MMS and and wap/internet on you acc screen. On the mms's do you get a message saying you've been sent an MMS but the phone can't display it and you need to go to a webpage to see it ? If you do, it is a setting problem at the Tesco end and adding the right items to your acc screen will get it working. When they add them you'll get some sim updates, just read and delete and switch the phone off for 30 seconds and that should sort it.

The texts you were sent would have needed to be open before they would have installed. They usually prompt you to allow them to complete.
If you didn't open them and you've deleted them just ask for them to be sent again.
