You need to ask them what they have disallowed, because for the life of me I cannot see where they got that sort of excess from. Remeber it's a agreement, you don't have to sign it until you agree with the figures and you have a right to challenge their figures.
You could always email them for a quicker response.

Totally agree. Ask them what they have used and ask for a complete breakdown. To get an IPA of £94, you needed a surplus if £188 and be blowed if I can find it on that.
And as mentioned, its an agreement (hence the A bit in IPA!) If you do not agree, then don't.0 -
They may have dissallowed the £50 for internet but you have nothing for phone ect. Did you both go bc or just your wife?. If you both went bc did you both submit the same i&e?. Ask for a breakdown of how they arrived at that figure.
Another possibility is if your wife works might it be a NT IPA?.

hello again
are income is £367 wages monthly
£175 child benfit (can they include this)
£804 working tax credit, child tax credit
total £1346
they just rang us back they won,t include car insurance,or anything to do with the car, they told us are food bill is to much they say £480 a month for 2 adults 3 children 1 dog we have not included any savings for birthdays, xmas, plus are eldest child needs a pda for school which school suppys for £10 a month we have not included hair cuts etc.what they are doing now is sending us out another form to fill out and we need to break everthing down is there anything we can write down
ps on the car front my partner works at garage/supermarket she works 1 shift where she finishs 11pm so she misses last bus plus on a regular basis she has to refuse the local thugs on drinks ,cigs so she does not want to be hanging about when she finishes(the security guard in the building gets abusive all the time when he leaves she told this to them but they took no notice.
sorry about my grammar0 -
Hi
I guess they are thinking the car costs so much pro rata to the income. How would it be then if your partner worked elsewhere so they didn't need a car? Might be worth asking them?
Seems they're being very picky with you. When you get the next form I would add in haircuts at 10 per adult and 5 per child, 5 per child per week for activities, 50 for a holiday - see how that works.
best of luck:j BSC 221 :jJanuary 2009 Club Number 7BR 30.01.090 -
Agree. When you get the next form add stuff in you missed off - holiday, Hse Ins etc cos you left them off.
Plus tell them in no uncertain terms that with no transport there will be no job. The food bill is NOT too high and we can pull details off the national debtline site thats used for DMPs etc, to give an idea of what can be had.
PLUS - it looks as if they have included child benefit in the calculations. They are not allowed to do that! Collectively we will tell them to bog off for you!0 -
SB, did you both go BR or just your partner?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

My OR told me that for a family of 2adults/3 children house-keeping allowance is £600.00, this is based on government guidelines 3years ago.
I disagreed, I said £780.00 it what it costs us......the rising costs are ridiculous.
I have saved every receipt for the last 4months & sent them off to the OR.
The OR has just returned them to me.:D
No comment from OR so that figure has been accepted I take it.BR 08/05/2008

Before you send the nxt one post it here first and we will check it for you. They may jut be trying it on,they do sometimes:rolleyes: .
Will ask again as it makes a big difference did just your OH go bc as if so you DO NOT put your full income only YOUR CONTRIBUTION to household bills. Is the car in your OH name,if not then that may be why they have disallowed any car expenditure. In that case you need to put something down for ess travel. If it was me i would quote the cost of a taxi home on the nights your OH works late!!!!;)Free impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau
