you need a splitter in each phone extension with a phone (or Skybox), thats why it cuts off when you answer the phone

these things, Maplins do them, or ebay

There are many splitters on the market and they come in different shapes and sizes. In most, if not all cases, the letters "ADSL" are printed somewhere on the device. A couple of examples including the original BT faceplate (centre) are shown in the picture below.

    - but do you have one in every active phone socket? this includes sky boxes, and also fax machines....

wanadoo comes with different limits depending which package you are on - the basic £17.99 one comes with 2gb, £22.99 gets you 6gb, and £27.99 gets you 30gb.... zazizam offer the same basic 2gb package as wanadoo, but for £4-6 less a month (£11.99 or £13.99), and they also have 3 unlimited packages for 512k, 1mb, and 2mb

you cannot leave wanadoo until you finish your minimum 12 month contract though, but from your initial post, I imagine that you have just started using their broadband

    hope this all helps

hi i do have one from the the phone wire to the modem wire, but not from phone socket to phone wire. maybe i`ll try that, but i think i did hen we installed bradband, which was months ago, its just i have another new computer installed as i thought it was my old dark ages comp that was at faullt. i have been with wanadoo for years but only thier bb for a few months, surely if and when i put all the splitters in the right place and it still doesnt work like bb should, then i should be able to cancel policy??? thanks for replying by the way!!!! :D

you wont be able to cancel, as bt wholesale will probably back them up by saying that it is a fault with your hardware setup

one question - has it ever stayed working before, when the phone rang?

with regards to your wiring setup - where does your phone connect to the phone, on the filter, or by using a 2/3 way line spliter box connected into the telephone socket - where one goes to the phone, and the other to the filter (or an extension connecting the filter to the room with the pc)? If you could perhaps describe in more detail, or draw an image, then maybe this could help
