Hello,
I've been searching around the internet for a decent phone deal and have come across several that offer free tv's laptops, psp's and so on.
Are these deals real?
Do you actually receive a free laptop or tv?

If you are talking about the likes of dial a phone then you might get your gift and cashback but it is an incredibly lengthy difficult process and you will spend a lot of time on your newly acquired phone asking when your gift is being sent. I know several people who were told they were waiting for stock for six months or more and only a couple who have got their Wii etc.
As for the cashback deals, you have to be meticulous with your bills and send them special delivery on the right dates to have a chance of getting your money. Personally, I would steer well clear.0 -
I ordered a Nokia 6500 on orange from the link that came with a free Wii. That was ordered last Monday and on Wednesday CityLink delivered my phone AND Wii, so yes they are very real
That was The Link website! Try it!

As barongreenback says you need to be careful which company you're dealing with. Offers are usually subject to availability, so you may have to wait to get your 'gift' or there's a small chance you might not get one.
They are not 'free' as such, the cost of the item is reflected in additional line rental, so it's like paying for the item monthly over the term of your contract.0 -
Thanks for the info everyone.
I think I'll steer clear of these deals.
I just want a good airtime package with free decent phone and not
allsorts of complications and hidden charges etc.

I have had 2 contracts with free gifts, one as I said was an orange contract and got a free Wii (delivered with the mobile) and one was an o2 contract with a free PDA (also delivered with the mobile)!
So, where as I am sure there are some "dodgy deals" out there, I have only ever had successful experiences

Got to agree with Matt (M_Ryan)
I have not had a problem with my last 2 phones both with "gifts". Yes they are not free, but just compare the deal you want without any gifts, to see how much it is costing over the term of the contract.
The deals I have received are an Xbox 360, on an Orange contract with Buymobilephones.net and a Samsung 19" LCD TV with Dialaphone. They both came within 28 days of the order without any chasing at all. I understand that some companies now send the gifts at the same time as the phone.
I think these deals are much better than the cashback deals - the majority of which involve sending off bills within certain timescales - too much of a ball-ache to do that and your gambling that the company doesn't find some excuse to avoid paying out.0 -
I am currently on my third cashback contract with
http://www.onestopphoneshop.co.uk (part of carephonewarehouse)
The first one was a 12 month contract 9 months free
The second was a 12 month contract 12 months free
This year I am on a 12 month contact which works out at £1.99 per month
You always get a decent phone free (rec a nokia 6500 slide this year) but you have to be organised, if the paperwork goes in late you will not get your cashback. I have received all of my cheques and have had no problems.0
