@TM - sorry to hear you've been having big problems, will need to catch up with your other threads as I'm obviously way behind things.

@spirit & kmmr - I also keep thinking about doing it again so I know how you feel. Not sure I'd convince OH though given what happened last time

LLC is now pretty much back to normal although he's passed on his bugs to the rest of us. Dont you just love kids :D

kmmr, sorry i missed your post, i wasn't ignoring you, honest! i'll read your blog in a mo.

Kitchen and chook photo, dare i say killing 2 birds with one stone! I let them out to free range when i'm home - and it's not dark. they love coming in the kitchen and nicking the cat food. In the summer they like it because the floor is cool.

re the Allotment act, yes this is still current so you can have chooks if you want to. they haven't wrecked my garden like I was told they might. Their manure is really good for the garden too (not forgetting the eggs). I have 2 Fenton Roses and 2 Lavendar auracanas, both lay a greeny-blue egg.

Someone (Wallbash) made a link to this dear old thread today, and I wondered if anyone else of us was still watching? How's it all going? Are you onto a new project? Our new project is an allotment, well, half an allotment. Been at it just over a year, and we're pretty useless, but tis fun and I get to actually meet a few people, something that I haven't really done (other than family) for years.

This is just to wish you all well, and hope you are all happy in your renovated homes... :):):)

But if you begin a Second Home Renovation, please let me know so I can come along for the ride! :) ;):)

:hello: Yoo hoo Maggie. I'm still subscribed to this thread but everyone seems to have vanished :(. I expect all the original renovations got finished.

No project for me, just enjoying retirement with my little dog who keeps me busy and gets me out and about. I potter about my tiny garden, not really knowing what I'm doing but haven't killed off too much yet :rotfl: .

I take it you finished your house and you're well and truly settled in?

I wonder how many more of us old ones (renovators that is, not old as in age, :D) will see this and respond. It would be interesting to see what they're all up to now, and get an update on the two babies too.
  • I'm still subscribed! Not sure if anyone remembers me.

Our renovations finished just before getting married in summer 2010. We've had a few bits done since then, new windows and driveway. Next big task is the garden but that seems ongoing...! We've also got an extension in the pipeline, hopefully next year.

We've since had a little girl who is almost two and another on the way due end of February :-)

    Hope everyone is well!
  • Aww hello everyone :)

This made me smile when it popped up in my emails! It's lovely to hear from you and find out what everyone's up to!

Lots has changed here, house is all finished so my next project is my wedding next June :D so very excited! Just got to sort out where were going to live next as we are from opposite sides of the country so there may be another house renovation in the pipeline haha

    Xx

    I'm still here too

Glad everyone is ok. I've only continued to do maintenance things to this house. I've the paint off the kitchen units as I didn't like it! It took me ages to put on and then take off.

I regularly consider moving. I rehomed the hens last November in readiness. Until 'they' make me redundant, I shall have to wait til retirement to move I think. My son lives up north since graduating from uni and becoming engaged to a local lass. My daughter who called off the wedding 6 months ago, has been living with me since. She has a new b/f and is moving in with him - also oop north!

I am struggling with areas to move to as it is, but really don't want to move north of the M4. Ah well, we'll see what happens eh.

Now, where's LC and Stolt etc?
