Finally got the vid on YouTube. I may take this link down in a few days, not sure yet. Anyway, here's the link for now.

I will try and do a walk round the house, room by room, over the next few days. Garden too. We'll see how I recover from the travelling.

Had a bit of a bad time at one of the Moto service stations on the way home - seem to recall having probs with one of them in previous years too. Suspect they use not very (though totally legal) nice pesticide stuff. Just suddenly got really sore throat after trecking across the whole huge floor to reach the toilets. Felt really ill. Disabled access very poor really - only 6 disabled parking places. We will be avoiding them in future unless really desperate for loos!

Sorry to hear the troubles there Maggie - though I love the vid! I've looked at your pics in previous posts etc, and when getting further up the road I could spot your house a mile out! It looks the best in the street! No exaggeration! Looks really nice and neat / fresh! Great stuff!! Hope you get moved in there soon!! :D:D

LOVE those slate tiles Stolt! I was going to have them in my bathroom, though the topps tiles website recommends not to use them near direct contact with water as they aren't sealed like conventional tiles. So they'd be great on a wall not in direct contact.

    Looking good! :D

hi typeractive, i'm not sure if they mean that as they have no need grout lines then they cant be used in a shower cubicle or something like that, although apparently you can mount them on aquaboard to get roundthe shower cubicle etc but then you will have soap and things caught in the tiles and i'm sure mould over time. i'm going to seal them anyway as i want them darker!:D

plumber went to put rad on and a small bit of elbow for the valve isnt in the box (it couldnt physically fit in the box, the company have said that we only had 24hrs to check my losses so they wont help us. Valves are £76.00!!! whats ore annoying is we checked for major breakages and things like taps etc missing but we would have never spotted this little valve thing was missing unless you know what your looking for or installing the rad after delivery, we bought it about 3 weeks back. really annoying.

hi everyone, another busy weekend for me, you would have thought that i had enough of digging! no so i thought i would remove more hedges out the front playroom bay, at on stage in the future i want the driveway extending over a bit (will still have a small bed to soften it up alittle, downstairs bathroom is coming on although run out of tiles so we will have to order a few more boxes on special order so they dont hold them in stock. i installed a light under the boxing today that can shine in different colours etc, still got to look at plastering the dinning room and the flooring.

Looking good as usual stolt. :)

Well I'm officially depressed. We've just spent the week looking for somewhere to rent in the new area we are relocating to. We're trying to find somewhere in a not so built up area but everything we can find that's suitable (and will accept dogs) is just silly money and has pokey kitchens. The more modern and bigger affordable properties are all in seriously bult up areas. :(

Whoever is the first to invent a process whereby your own house can be dug up and stuck on the back of a low loader will indeed be an overnight millionaire.

Hope you are all well and whatever you are doing is going smoothly.

you need this man! Have you seen any of his shows on channel 5? he is certainly confident. I remember one episode where he moved a church from one place to another and it was literally on time for the couple to get married that very day! Bonkers!

Keep looking - I know it's frustrating, though you will find a solution!

    Good luck!

Staircase Man came over on Saturday and started to put in the new balustrade stuff. He'd hoped to have the glass, but it's delivered on Mondays, so with the Bank Holiday it hadn't arrived. Some of the bits have gone back for further adjustment (he knew he'd have to do this). He's coming back on Saturday to fit the glass, and if the oak banister has arrived to fit that too.

    Here's a few taster pics!

Still waiting on the glass panel to go by the kitchen door too, hope it won't be long now! Think I must try and make decisions on telephone and ISP and televisions stuff soon. Would make it much easier to stop over a few nights every so often if we have internet there.

@maggie - love the videos. what did you use to take them - particularly the one driving up to the house. looked very clear.

@stolt - got to stop looking at your posts - reminds me I'm going to have to sort out the garden at some point. Current thinking is just try and stop it looking like the house is deserted.

hoping to arrange for a builder to do most of the remaining work on the outside of the house as that doesn't need ot wait for the insurance - everything else does. Just need to get things with the insurance sorted or if we cant reach agreement pass onto a loss assessor to fight for everything while we get on with our lives.

Need to try and get a plan for getting the house ready to sell. Lots of little things need done and several large things too like the front steps and the drive. Drive will probably be relatively cheaply done with lines of slabs and the rest chuckies (little stones) but the front steps will need to be nicely done as thats will help create the first impression (obviously :D )

LLC is doing great - crawling around at light speed and into everything he shouldn't be. Desperately trying to walk round the furniture but he's not quite got the hang of it yet. Still not sleeping great but given all the disruption its no great surprise. Also thinking the travel cot base maybe isn't that comfortable which wouldn't be helping. Plans in place to get a proper replacement cot.

Going to be an interesting few months.....
