    Aw bless. :)

You don't appreciate just what a good time this is in a baby's life. When they're born, it's all downhill from then on. :rotfl: Just kidding, I love all of mine, honest. :D

Stolt, you put us to shame. We have a builder's back yard of a garden that's been crying out for attention for a long time, When I see what you've achieved in such a short time I alternate between wanting to cry and just feeling downright embarrassed that I've still not done anything about it.

    Slowly getting there (clicky):

Just got to remove the bit in front of old shed, the strip along the left and bottom right area. New shed will occupy all that area plus i'll have to slice off a few inches of grass. What the picture doesn't show is the big pile of rubble just out of shot! The morning was spent sending 2 carloads to the tip and moving all the rest of the rubble from one end of the garden to the other. Caught the sun today on arms and top of head as it didn't occur to me i might need suncream!

    Hey all,
Feels like I haven't been here for aaaaaaaaaaaaages!
We're not 9 weeks and counting till puppy time so lots to do. Currently we're breaking up the floor in my office to be to put some plastic duct things in to house the new central heating pipes and possibly wiring, networking etc. We'll then need to actually do the plumbing and wiring and then screed the floor.
I planted 300 mini plants I recieved from Suttons! They are currently in my kitchen but someone said they might grow to 'leggy'. In the book it said to grow them at 16 - 18 degrees so outside is still too cold? I don't really know anything about gardening!

Hi Jimmie, what are your plants? They could possibly grow leggy, I've had some go a bit that way in our sun room but others are fine. It's definitely not warm enough yet, we're forecast 16 degrees today, they've said the warmest day so far, but up to now it's only been up to about 9-10 degrees and of course the nights are still very cold and a touch of ground frost in some places - that would definitely finish off your plants! I think you'd best leave it until May.

But whenever I'm unsure (which is when I buy something new 'cos I'm still a novice) I google and get as much info as I can.

Hey TM. No idea what the plants are. They had labels on but I've lost them! I know there are definitely Begonias and Impatients? I wonder if they are protected in my greenhouse thing I could put them outside a bit sooner. They're only tiny so small risk of 'legginess'!! atm but they're growing already. Pics on my blog ... what do you think? Also, what is my orange flower?

Your orange flower is a tulip, leaves give it away. Not sure of the variety as there are so many but obviously not the one everyone thinks of or the one you'll find in the supermarket bunches. Looks like a dwarf variety from your picture.

As for your plants, are they in a utility room? There seems to be plenty of light, they shouldn't go leggy as that can happen when they're searching for light and the rooms looks light enough. I think if you put them outside now then there's a chance you might lose quite a few, even if they're in your greenhouse. I'd give it another week or so, see if the weather has warmed up a bit. It's the night temperatures that will do the damage.

    Impatiens = Busy Lizzie.

I've looked at Sutton's website for an offer, all I can find is a 540 mini plant offer here. I know it's not yours but I'm wondering if it possibly has the same plants? Impatiens, begonias, petunias and lobelia? That's quite a common collection used for baskets and tubs etc. It looks like there could be 4 or 5 different types there. If Maggie is around she might be able to help, she knows so much more than me!

By the way, Dylan is gorgeous!

    Thanks so much TM!

aaaaah a tulip .... I did think that before the flower came out but then I wasn't so sure. I have another 5 which haven't flowered so I wonder what colour they will be?! ooooh exciting!

I recognise some of the names for the mini plants so yes I might have been them. They were on special offer. There's def 6 different types.

Atm they're in my kitchen. It's nice and light - I thought maybe I'll have to move them around so different ones get a turn on the top shelf?! The kitchen doesn't have any heating (not that I've got it on) so it's usually under 20 degrees in there.

That would be fine, don't want any of them to think they're being left out and not getting the special treatment the others are getting :rotfl: . They will be fine in that temperature. If the sun gets on the plants make sure you keep them watered. My friend put her tomato seedlings on top of her dresser and left them there, then wondered why they had died - she hadn't watered them!

These plants are getting the royal treatment! I've now put them outside in the sun (waterered them first!) and will take them in later when it gets cold.

Since this morning another plant has come out ... what's this one? Ignore the weeds in the background!

Also I have a lot of clumps of these which don't look like flowers at all. Will they flower and what are they?

    End of gardening questions!

Sorry, I maybe misled you. If the sun is hot and you've just watered your plants it could "bake" them. It should be OK today but in future perhaps water them inside later in the day in future.

Possibly bluebells, flowers May I think. I'll try and find a picture of mine on my blog.
