    I GOT NEWS

I fetched TomsDad home today :j.

He is so glad to be back home. Long long wait for the pharmacy to deliver his meds, 5-10 minutes they said, it took them four hours  and he was getting really cheesed off, but........... he's here and happy. He's got to go back on Friday for clinic appointment, then every Tuesday and Friday for the next few months. He's still trying to put Bristol off, we'll have to wait and see on that one but he doesn't think he's fit enough to do the journey yet.

    Oh, happy day!

Good to hear TomsMom! Welcome home TomsDad! Hopefully the worst is behind him..one day at a time and don't let him go doing too much or rushing things! Will take a while for him to adapt to being home i expect but he'll get there.

fed up today, had our tiles delivered, idiot of a driver for the courier company network freight phoned to say he cant move 1ton of tiles on a pallet, and i said i wasnt there to help but i would assume that the tile company https://www.tilesporcelain.com would have thought of that. He swore and put the phone own on me and said its not his problem. Phoned tilesporcelain in disgust to say i didnt' want the tiles and i will refuse the driver if he turns up and as i wont be spoken to like that. I really wanted to drive the 45mins home and watch his face as i was waiting for him. Anyway tilesporcelain didnt listen to a word i said and kept the driver coming, he arrived offloaded one pallet and our plasterer noticed that some others had been stacked on a pallet and that had fallen over on the back of the lorry. The driver then promptly decided to toss each tile onto another on the pallet he had put on the driveway. So now we have about 15 badly scratched tiles. tilesporcelain have said they will replace them, but why does it always happen to me!! will definatelynot be using them again, cheap they may be, but i cant be fussed with the problems.

  • Welcome home TomsDad!!!!! :)

stolt - we had massive problems with our tile delivery also. The driver said he couldn't operate the tail lift on a slope so he couldn't unload the tiles. Our road is really not sloped, you wouldn't notice it. After much backwards and forwards eventually they sent 2 drivers so unload so they could take the weight. Like you said the tile company must know of problems like this!

Oh fantabulous news! Frabjous day, calloo callay! :j  :j

We're just about to go off to meet our vendor at the house to learn how the central heating works and suchlike, so better get dressed as we have to be there at 9.30.

Hugs to TD (TM I hope you don't mind a strange woman sending hugs to your OH  ;) )

Thats brilliant news TM! :j I bet its soooooo nice to have him home! Wish him all the best from me too!

Havent really had chance to keep up lately! Its so hectic at the minute, Im so glad Ive got some time off over Christmas.

We have finally got the floor finished downstairs and got the skirting stuck on, the walls were even more wonky downstairs! Also a couple of them have falled off, I think the house might be a bit too cold for it to cure! Weve been and bought some sticks like sh*t as that will cure even in low temperatures!

Spent last night varnishing the stairs as the carpet man is back tomorrow!

The joiner was supposed to be back last Saturday but he just didnt turn up and I havent been able to get hold of him since. Its so not like him so Im hoping nothing horrible has happened! He was restoring my faith in trades people!

All I want is my toilet door re-hanging before Christmas!! Might have to have a go myself!

stolt - How annoying and what shocking service! It really makes you wonder how certain companies stay in business! You should definately write a complaint to the courrier and the tile shop!

Christmas is getting ever nearer but I think we are still on track. Weve got 2 weekends and evenings to finish the bathroom and do the last bits of decorating. Need to find some time somewhere to actually move and put up the Christmas tree :-)

Has anyone else got Christmas moving deadlines?

yeah still cant believe it actually happened, wife took some photos and i got them sent over to tilesporcelain.com and they have agreed to send out another 15 today (i just hope the ones in the pallet are ok as we haven't unwrapped those) tiler starts tomorrow so even though there were problems at least they have done the decent thing.

you sound like me, I start talking in how many weekends i have to do stuff its our third daughters birthday sunday so i really need to get the skirting finished next week, thought sod it and put the christmas trees up last night, kids were dying to do it and would hardly seem worth it if there up for a week and then christmas is over.
