My photos keep disappearing....

in explorer when you move your files are you dragging and dropping them to various folder locations. I tend to copy and paste them so there in both locations before I delete them from the original location.

also you could be copying the shortcut to the pictures, which then once deleted are dead shortcuts. they have a .lnk extension (shortcuts that is).

Edit : it could be the naming conventions used by your camera. Thats why I like the wizard as you allocate a name for the group of photos your pulling off the camera, so for example when I have taken a few photos for ebay I will name the group "EbaySept292008" (for example) and throw them in a folder called "Ebay Pictures", that way all the photos have a unique name "EbaySept292008001".."EbaySept292008002".."EbaySept292008003" ect. This ensures there are no duplicates or overwriting of existing names.

Hi Shadowdragon.... copying and pasting. The photos are viewable if I view them in Windows Explorer but not in 'My Pictures' but I can then copy/paste them again from windows explorer to 'My Pictures'. Seems a long-winded way to get them to My Pics from the camera! I don't know why it's suddenly stopped just transferring straight to my pictures... beyond my small brain:rolleyes: . Thanks for your help... much appreciated .
