Hi all
I was having a conversation with a friend about baby equipment and she said she was getting a 2nd hand steriliser.
Is it safe to do this?
Have you done this?
I was looking on ebay last night and I must admit the prices are appealing.

Well it will be clean, and will always be clean.Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0

dont see a problem with it at all... i mean would you question using somebody elses pot to boil a bottle in if you had no steriliser? As long as it works, no point paying an arm and a leg for a new one0
-
and if you have a new one for your first child, and keep it to use with other children, that makes it second hand!0

I would have thought of all the things to have second hand, this would be the one lol
At least it's guarenteed to be clean!"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
As long as its not been overboiled if its a microwave one, then no, I dont see a problem.
Thereare certain things I wouldnt buy for a baby second hand, but I have a second hand steriliser and have used it for both my boys, and will be using it again in the coming weeks.Moving on upSPC #382 ~ £40 banked

Check the cable is AOK and not dented/broke and check the condition of the plug. I know we are not all electricians, but if any damage to these parts then don't use.
And yes - I will use a second hand one!0 -
i had a micowave one 2nd hand from cousin and an eletric one 2nd hand from sister in laws friend only problem i had was trawling google to find instructions for the eectic one but both worked fab kept the micro one at my mums as it was too big to go in our microwave both were brillianttwins on board0

What's wrong with plain old sterilising fluid, at 99p a bottle? Don't see the need for fancy sterilising equipment.0
