o2 Broadband

Pl can somebody tell me what check o2 does to know whether that person is an o2 customer besides asking for the phone number, is there anything else they ask when ordering o2 bb online? I want to order o2 bb but I am with orange, my brother is on o2 pay as you go and he says I am free to use his number to get the discount if it is allowed!! Will I be doing something illegal if I use his number and I do not want to do that although I want to save some money. Any advice from experienced member will be great. Thanks.

well in my case they asked for a code they texted to the mobile. I think their terms say the phones owner should be in the same household. I don't think they would catch you though. Just have the mobile to hand when setting up the account.

We're going to o2, my son is a mobile customer, he's just back from uni so living with us anf they said we could use his number. They said they would speak to him when I book (if I book on the phone)to get his permission but I'd like to go through Quidco so will give it a go on-line.

Pl do let me know how you get on!! What do you have to fill when book online? Will the direct debit coming off your account or your son? I did phone as well and CS did tell me provided you have that person permission, it is ok. I intend to go through quidco as well for the £25. Thanks
  • Your reliant on the other person to pay there bill or top up (only £10 every 3 months mind!) - my pal used his mums number and had no problems - I'm about to sign up with my gfs number once I get my MAC code :)

When I looked I thinks it's just the relevant mobile number, the dd will come from my account.

Thanks, I am just going to sign as myself and pay £12.50 just to be cautious. As it is, I am having problem as I have not changed my billing address, all my bills still go to my parent's address and the address of my debit card will not match the new address as I have not registered it.

My son's o2 mobile phone account is in my name and I have just taken out the broadband for his student house no problems.

o2 phone and bank billing address is completely different from the one the broadband is installed at.

Thanks, have just done it and used my parents address as billing address, the same like on my debit/credit card, I have not changed them to my new address. I think when you buy online, your debit card must match your home address. Has anybody texted GUNNERS to 60600 to get the arsenal t-shirt. Just interested to know what happens when you tx, do you get a reply or how do they know where to send to, guess they have your details. Also how much does the tx costs? Thanks
