I did 3.2 miles in the dark and wet.....absolutely soaking!!!! Now about to dive in a bath and then have a hot drink.

ooh, forgot to say, benben - I did have a fab treadmill before, but sold it a couple of years ago. I will probably do some sessions on the treadmill at the gym because I can fit that in around work. Our local gym works on a PAYG basis so it is not too expensive for an occasional workout!

Morning - I ACHE!! - the shoulder/neck injury that I got last year is not as healed as I had hoped, and the running has inflamed it. As a result I have had the most uncomfortable night for months! I will be heading to boots today for some very strong painkillers.

No running tonight - just as well really, given the above. I am doing a "pamper evening" to help raise money for a cancer charity so will be going straight from work to that.

could i surgest some physio on your neck injury??
because
1 its an old injury and needs more than massaging
2 if theirs a problem their you could be doing serious damage with the jogging...
high impact sport!!! and may have to walk for a while while you get it right
3 life with a disability however small is not nice,and thats how they start

Shaun, good luck for the solids, and thank you for the sound advice. I know now I cannot keep pushing through - my pain threshold has been well and truly tested! I will ring the doc and make an appointment.
