In the grand scheme of things, employment is only a small matter as people are far worse off than me! So this keeps me cheerful! Debt Free since July 2011 and it feels good!

I am sending you very positive vibes walshy!!
Another workshop today, and a mystery shop afterwards. I really do feel as though I should be in the office today with what is happening in the market, so for the first time, I feel a conflict of interests between these two areas of my "income earning ability" and I do think that I will have to think twice before accepting mid week teaching work.
More CD/itunes stuff to do today as well - now I have started, I HAVE to finish!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
One of the wonderful things about NZ is the idea of garage sales. You do a carboot in your front drive! No having to get up real early to be there etc. Maybe an idea to help with your decluttering.
And ref the skip - surely you are going to offer stuff of freecycle first? It doesn't take nearly as long as ebay, and it saves it going to landfill.
But well done on making a start..... how is the ironing mountain:D:eek: ?
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Freecycle is a good idea - as long as you can stay in for somebody to pick the stuff up. It could work by having an "open weekend" for picker-uppers, maybe!
I think a few people round here are getting into garage sales nowadays - its just so much easier, isn't it.
Chev - just seen your DOACC "made it" in your sig - how wonderful, I'd seen the whole NZ thing, of course, just not noticed that bit before. I love it! Good for you!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
OK, jump on me now.........NO NO NO NO NO to a garage sale.
I hate doing car boots - I truly truly hate the fact that people are rummaging through our cast offs, so to do that in my own driveway would be just too traumatic to me. Not an idea I can entertain - even typing this is almost making me cry with the thought of such a thing!
A few bits will make it to freecycle, like the breadmaker, but most of it will just go. Sorry. An open weekend is a nice idea in theory, but WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME I HAD A WEEKEND!!! When I get my next one (certainly not this month!), I do not want to be waiting in for people who may or may not turn up!
This is something that needs doing and needs doing in the small amount of time that I have available to do it in. That means drastic action. And I am afraid that if that means that "saleable" stuff goes in the skip, then I will survive, and if that means that someone misses out on my mismatched crockery, then so be it.
I know that this goes against the MSE grain in a lot of ways, but the idea here is to preserve my mental state, and that is more important than making 99p on ebay and the like.
