DS failed his grading - but so did everyone else of his grade......and all on the same minor point, so we all know that it is a teaching error rather than an error of those grading (or else it is a mighty coincidence!). So, DS is disappointed, but not upset because he knows he has only done what he has been taught, and that everyone is in the same boat.

I, on the other hand, having paid out for this grading, am gutted........money down the drain!

But anyway, we move on, and he will retake that one element in March, and it doesn't actually affect the date on which he takes his black belt at this time, so not the end of the world in real terms.

I am going to head out for a quick run round the block just to give myself some air after being in that sports hall all day......then shower and out again.

Hope everyone is having a more productive day than I have had........**mutters about a waste of a day as well as a waste of money**

    2.7 miles in 28 minutes.....average 10:28 a mile :D

It felt like I was much slower, so pleasantly surprised with my time. I will go and do a steady run tomorrow but not sure how far I will go - My legs were a little heavy, but I think that is the combination of the half marathon last weekend followed by very little running during the week, so hopefully these couple of miles today will just loosen them up a bit.

Soooo tired! Got home late because originally I arrived home to find that I had somehow managed to leave my doorkey inside and was now locked out - so had to turn round and go to where OH was working to get his keys   So I was a whole lot later getting to bed than I would have liked.

Then had one of those nights where I heard EVERY little sound (or so it seems!) - the student came home at 3.30 and it took me an hour to get back to sleep once she had been backwards and forwards to the bathroom, up and down stairs to get a drink etc (she was being more or less quiet, but it was just me not being able to settle!), and so on and so on - every mouse that squeaked in the fields around me probably contributed to my lack of sleep -

So I am tired now, and I would like to go back to bed!

I won't be running - I really do feel far too tired and my nose has been running all night, so I feel my "quota" for the day is already done.

I have the use of a colleague's season tickets for the football today - the local derby, so a biggie......which means a very DFW trip out for DS and I, and DD and the student are off to see a "see film first" film for free, so that is good too!

I still need to input those bloody mystery shops, get some basics from Tesco etc

But first, banking, scratchcards, and more coffee.....

Have a good day everyone x

    morning mrs!!
sounds to me like your starting to run down a little, are you on a vitamin cause??
also with your training you could change tactics for a week and go for smaller runs and do stair steps for 10 mins, intermixed with big runs when you feel up to it.
    skiing..
as the instructor did not teach the class an essential part of the grading requirement
have not all the parents the right to a free re-set of the exam as the instructor / club must take responsibility for the c0ck up!!

I'm sorry you had a poor sleep! there is nothing worse if you have a busy day ahead! my little darlings were up at 6 despite staying up late last night! My partner was up and out at 6.15 to take his son to hockey - and I have a list as long as your arm of stuff to do! Including food shopping - not sure I can avoid it as we have no bread, milk or toilet roll!!!!!
You sound like your day is going to be more fun filled and MS than mine!
I am on nights tonight - and going to be soo tired!
Anyway have a good day all (note to self - look into mystrery shops - i'm sure I could do that)

    Hi Shaun and judi!

Yes, probably a bit run down - I enjoyed my short run last night so will probably do just that - a week of shorter runs, then get back to the bigger stuff when I feel better.

I am in the process of making a list of "aims for 2009".......I have the following headings:
    • Employment and earning potential
    • Family
    • Home
    • Financial
    • Me
    • Organsation
    • Anything else!
It is going to be my starting point for the next 12 months (so is quite a lengthy document!) and includes things like:

Sending updated photos of the children to great-aunts we don't get to see.
Updating birthday and anniversary lists so I don't forget to send cards.

as well as the bigger stuff like decorating the childrens' rooms and cleaning the gutters.

When I start my new diary, I will put up individual sections so you can all have a laugh at what I am trying to achieve, knowing my lack of organisational and housework skills :o

I will work on the "plan" while I am at the ski club this morning, and hopefully have a workable idea by the end of the day!

  • Morning Hypno,

Sorry that you're feeling a bit under the weather today, don't go doing too much.

As for your aims for 2009, they seem quite reasonable and it's good that you have put a section for 'you' in it, I hope that you have included eating chocolate and drinking coffee under that section :)
