That is how I felt about ours MiT.......The loans have been looking after themselves - reducing with no ability to rack the debt back up again, but the credit cards are higher interest, putting temptation in our way every time we fancy a takeaway, or fall shy of the budgets......so it was absolutely necessary to get rid of them.

In moneysaving news today I have just switched our house insurance - £9 a month cheaper and £50 back through quidco........hurrah :T

Right - must input a mystery shop, otherwise I won't get paid, and we can't have that now, can we!!

I have one that I have reduced the limit right down on - I can use this for mystery shopping expenses and then pay it off every month once the mystery shopping pays me out. The limit is not enough for me to go on a shopping spree or to book a weekend away - so fairly safe there!!

Other than that, I am happy to be rid of them!

That's exactly what I am doing. I more or less ignore my loans. They get paid every month and are going down so for now thats enough. I am just concentrating on the credit card and catalogue debts I have and then I will think about them.

I have to admit, that if the loans were all "pay in full" to clear them, I would probably just leave them be and accept that the DFD will be in 3 years, or whatever, but because I have two of them that can be paid off in dribs and drabs without any penalties, it seems a bit of a non brainer really, and I will concentrate my efforts on paying them off in the same way as I did with the cards.

Yeah it makes sense doesn't it.

Both my loans will be finished in around 2 years. I have never looked in to whether they have any penalties probably something I should do in time once the other debts are almost finished.

If penalties Ill probably leave them to run too and start saving instead
