Heard the credit crunch is hitting Law firms as well....my daughter is doing her LPC and has just told us over a dozen of her fellow students have lost training contracts because of cutbacks....if you didn't already know....thats a lot of money to find at short notice.I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

Hi All,
if you want to save money on books get the isbn for the book you want from Amazon, and use the following
1. use bookbrain.co.uk and get he best price
2. same with bookkoob
3. alternatively if you have a nus extra card (not sure 10 or 20 quid) you can get 5% off with amazon
4. you can use john smith online i think they are scotland based but they do 15% off - but there is up to 4 weeks delay in delivery - www.jscampus.co.uk
cheers!

hi princess,
Just thought i'd add that I also found the 1st year the most difficult - it may take some adjustment especially if you haven't studied Law before. As it happens, as there was no dissertation to complete, I found the last year rather painless in comparison.
I hope it goes well for you! :j0 -
Hi all, just noticed this thread.
I'm a second year scots law student, just finished my semester A exams today...thank god lol!will be glad of my 1 week break
:) Here's hoping I pass.
The Johnsmith bookshops are really good! They are the local campus bookshops in most glasgow based universities, but every week or so they have various offers on books, so you can end up saving yourself a fair bit
I definitely found first year the hardest, I find most of my modules now are slightly easier to grasp because of my first year knowledge, whereas, when I started first year didn't have a clue about law
Hope you are all enjoying your coursesComping Fairy bring some luck my way! :dance:Love my Fiance Spiceboy :happyhear:iloveyou:0 -
I'm a first year law (mature) student and I just want to say that I hate legal method, love contract law and am on the fence with tort and public law! Bring on year 2 where we study criminal law )
Anyone elses workload took a steep curve upwards since coming back after xmas?*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!NSD Jan 2/150 -
See i loved public law
I'm on my inter-semester break at the moment, then semester b starts on Feb 2nd, but I think workload will be even bigger next semester.
The subjects I will be doing when I go back are jurisprudence, commercial law 2, crime and society and the substantive law of the EU! oh joys!!Comping Fairy bring some luck my way! :dance:Love my Fiance Spiceboy :happyhear:iloveyou:0
