Hi Guys
Thanks for all the supportive replies!
They are very much apreciated
I know your all right and I do need it, even if its hopefully for a small amount of time. I struggle daily and this will make my life and OH's a little easier and help me be a little more independant. I just hate living like this and feeling so tired/in pain every day-ITS SO NOT FAIR!!!!
Im lucky i have a great DH and DD. Im getting a little emotional so will sign off now but thank you all so much for your kind words-they really mean so much and you guys have helped me so much and just wanted you all to know that.
Hugs to all

Only just caught up with this. Go for it PP - your needs are as real as anyone else's needs. Don't put yourself down. I truly hope that you do get better and no longer need any help (in whatever form - stair lift, partner etc) and I totally admire you in being so positive and holding on to that hope when you are obviously suffering NOW.0

Glad that you have decided to go ahead with the stairlift.
If you feel guilty about it then tell yourself that you are going it for DH and DD so that you can be in better health for them and not tire yourself so much or put yourself through extra pain.

yes PP...go for the stair lift and save your going-up-stairs-energy for more exciting things like having coffee with a friend

I know its not fair sweetie. In fact, its bloody unfair. But hopefully in a little while you will be on your way to getting better. And the stairlift might help you on the way by you not exhausting yourself getting up and down the stairs - but also by you gaining some independance, that will help you a million times over!
Good Luck with it!!:starmod: :staradmin :starmod:I gave up jogging for my health when my thighs kept rubbing together and setting fire to my knickers:starmod: :staradmin :starmod:0 -

Have just read this thread, glad to hear that you will be accepting it, just think of the extra independence, and hopefully you'll have more energy to do things that you want to do, not expending it climbing stairs. Of course you're worthy of it, at the moment you need it, if someone broke both legs and was in a wheelchair you wouldn't think that they were unworthy just because they wouldn't need it forever, and if you don't need it in the future I'm sure it can be taken and given to someone else.
It's really great that though you're obviously in pain that you're still thinking of others, but remember to think of yourself too sometimes.GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Bless you PP,
This is something you NEED. Its a nessecity not an indulgence. If the council can help you then you ought to jump at the chance. They have budgets for this sort of thing. I'm more than happy for council tax to go to people in need.
I would certainly accept if it were me. It will be good for you once its fitted, giving you back a bit of indepedence, helping you to feel more self sufficient and thus hopefully helping to improve your MH. Go for it girl.
MWAH.

Hi PP
You need the stairlift right now so it would be best to have it. As someone else said if you don't need it in the future you can always have it removed. I know what you mean about accepting that you have health problems becoz at the moment we are saving to have the bathroom altered so I can have a shower (smelly me!!!) instead of keep falling out of the bath. Next will come the stairlift & at the mo I really could do with a wheelchair but don't want to admit it! You have done so well up to now & this would probably take some of the weight off your OH shoulders as he wouldn't need to worry about you on the stairs. Also the council obviously don't think its all in your head.
Sorry if this rambles a bit but brain isn't working well today & nothing is making much sense. :doh:Love to save & love a bargain0
