hi,
we live in a semi hard water area and at the bottom of the toilet we have tons of buildup of limescale,
whats the best way to et rid of it, i am thinking of buying maic descaler from toolstation, but im not sure if it'll work.
the other thing i was thinking of trying is boiling water and cheapy malt vinegar together and leaving it for a few hours.
does anyone else have any tried and tested idea.
im after somthing that wont smell afterwards
thanks

The toilet at my new workplace was so terrible I thought that we might have to get a new toilet, the bit below the waterline was so dark it looked almost black.. eurgh.
I used Domestos Zero limescale remover (about £1.99)- I must admit I didn't hold out much hope but by the end of the bottle it was about 95% better. Definitely worth a try.0 -
I live in a hard water area and have the same problem as you. The other week I bought toilet duck, Duck power Anti- Limescale liquid. I poured it in over night and the next morning it was all but gone! Had to use the brush on it, but only for a quick wipe.

I use those Harpic limescale tablets that you drop into the toilet bowl at night and by the morning, its all gone. Highly recommended.0

I use the stuff sold to descale C/H systems. A tub of the crystals last ages.0

I can vouch for Harpic too, the black bottled stuff, extra strong. We live in a very hard water area and my toilet soon cleaned up when using this stuff, I left it on for a couple of hours, then got the toilet brush and the limescale just fell off! I love the stuff!0

Try getting rid of the water at the bottom of the bowl – push it through with a toilet brush – and then pour 1/2-1 litre of coke down there. Might need to leave it overnight if it's very bad. Should shift most of the limescale.

Tesco toilet cleaner/limescale remover. 79p a bottle. Two bottles did the trick on a really disgusting old outside loo that hadn't been cleaned for 10 years ;-)Signature on holiday for two weeks0
