I would have loved the STANDBYBUSTER mentioned in your post, was all fired up, got onto website decided to order 3 of them with remote and lo and behold they DONT DELIVER TO NORTHERN IRELAND. I am fit to be tied as all the Northern Irelanders will agree the mainland seem to forget that we are part of UNITED KINGDOM. So much for that idea and it looked so good.

I fe*kin hate it when that happens. The Standbybuster is quite small, do you have friends on the mainland who could get it delivered to their address then post it over to you?

Bit of a nuisance but if you really want it..........:o

  • Know a few but not terribly well of course this could be the time to get real friendly Must drop them a line as I don't even know if they have e-mail, shows how well I know them. Thanks for your tip though

Just having the keypad meter alone makes means you can keep more of a check on how much you are using. I'm doing really well with Powershift so far .........Good luck

did anyone else read in the Belfast telegraph the other day that competition is due to come to the NI electricity market in the shape of Scottish and Southern electric,in 2009?

    we can only hope.......
  • Thanks Doelani that seems to be near enough to the other one(Standbybuster). I see Currys have none in stock but will soon. On the Reevoo part of Currys site for this item someone pointed out that they use 4 amps of electricity to run so I wonder how much electricty you actually save. I have no idea how many watts each TV, DVD etc uses in standby mode. ANY BRAIN BOXES OUT THERE :T

I seriously doubt that they use 4 amps. At a household voltage of 230V that equates to 920W. So almost as much as one bar of an electric fire
