Thanks for your reply.
I've set up a new folder and extracted the download there. Should I now just run setup.exe? or should I uninstall anything myself first?
Do you know what elizabeth is talking about when she says she also run the other application in the folder to download the modem drivers? Does it not do this automatically when you plug the usb modem in?
I'm sorry for so many questions, I'm just totally confused :-(

Probably better to uninstall as Elizabeth did.

The drivers are loaded by clicking on the Huawei Modems_Win.exe file.

Drivers should be installed before plugging the device into the PC.

No problem, note that I have not actually done this myself but the instructions worked Elizabeth! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

 I have suffered all week since buying the dongle. Thank you to everyone on this forum for the excellent help. I found that just uninstalling 3CONNECT, but leaving the dongle drivers installed worked when re-installing from the above link. Again thanks.0

Hi,
like a few others here I have had similar problems with 3 and similar lack of knowledge from their staff which this thread has done a great job filling in the gaps. On that score can anyone advise how to connect the modem to a second laptop. I have tried but cannot currently get the second laptop to read the new modem. There 3connect is showing no network. I keep getting the new hardware detected message but not any 3connect. I have also downloaded the update and tried the uninstall - install hence my having 3 connect on the desktop but am still unable to read the modem0 -

Have you loaded the drivers correctly before plugging in the device? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Hi,
is that the drivers for the 3connect update or from elsewhere. I thought that the drivers were on the USB. Its not currently reading anything from the usb modem even though the light is flashing blue. I have successfully installed it on one laptop0 -

Have you read this thread? Two other members have loaded the drivers from the download. Your computer can't communicate with the device unless the correct drivers have been loaded correctly before plugging in the device. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
I had this exact same problem and e-mailed Three before reading this thread. They sent the new software down to me as a software update (it checks for new versions each time you connect) and hey presto all now works ok and I can read the text for My3 registration. So if anyone is having problems downloading / installing the software update as described in this thread... I'd suggest e-mailing Three via the website and they should send you a software update which avoids all the techie stuff!0

I had this problem but followed the link with the capital E.
I had no problems with opening it etc as i had winrar installed. Just extracted to desktop and clicked on setup.
It auto-un-installed the old version too.
Only problem was it deleted the messages and i had to click on forgot password on the my3 logon screen.0
