Yeah Butlins is great as well as Park Resorts. Travel lodge hotel in a seaside town or city?

I have just returned from the Dawlish Waren one in Deven. We booked a mid week break. You can have a bronze caravan with the dog. I would recomend you book the largest caravan available as they are compact. i.e we booked a large 3 bed for just 3 people and had plenty of room - BUT 8 staying in the same! anyone for sardines???? The staff were all friendly and the site/caravan very clean. Wile we were there other people we talked to were comparing it to Butlins/haven. It is not on the same level.... there is 1 club house with hard working entertainment team, cafe/take away. Mini market, laundrette. Indoor/outdoor pool(small). What I am trying to say is not to expect all the entertainment of Butlins/Haven or you will be dissapointed.
We had a lovely break with plenty of dog walking to the seafront.
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
    Spring begins on 21st March.

That's true, it is nothing like Haven/Butlins but useful to use as like a base and go out elsewhere on day trips.

Have you thought of bidding on Ebay? I realise there will be more competition for school holiday weeks, but we won a week (20-27 September) in a 4-berth chalet on a farm near Fort William for just £53 all inclusive, and it was superb. The original "Buy it Now" price was £150, but that's the chance you take with auctions. As a bonus we were also very lucky with the weather, but there was plenty to do nearby if it had been a wet and windy week.

  • In leicestershire half term is the week before everywhere else (its the 20th oct) so you may find the week you want would be cheaper in leicestershire as half term is over. sure there are some nice cottages in melton, rutland, ashby-da-le - zouch.

twycross zoo is fab to visit

also have you tried youth hostel holidaying know lots of families do it now as a cheap alternative.

Beverly Holidays have a few of parks in DEVON
Someone posted a deal for OCT breaks @ GBP50 per mobile home for weekend breaks certain dates, but it got deleted by the MSE police as spam. Pity, it was a really good deal, so here it is again;)
