Just recently installed BT wireless broadband and have one tiny question.
Should I switch off the hub at the plug when I have the computer switched off or should I keep the hub switched on all the time?
Thanks

i switch mine off but it takes a couple of mins to reboot it when you switch it on. if it is off then there is less likelyhood of anyone else using it0

You should leave it on, it has been designed this way, so that it will pick up the security updates which sometimes occur.0

Thats 1-1 for turning off/keeping on.
Any other views/Val0 -
The only time I turn my router (not bt) off is when I go on holiday. Providing you have it completely secure its ok to leave any router on.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I never switch my router off. For that matter neither do I ever switch off my pc's.0

it all comes down to personal preferenc , i always left mine on, but had to reset it at times, but if youw ant to save a little electric then you could turn it off, but im guessing it doesnt really burn that much electric0

If you are not in a rush to access your internet turn it off. I have yet to have an update on my hub yet anyway. Why not save the electricity?
N.B Unless you have Hub Phone connected then you should leave it on as it goes flat really quickly otherwise.0 -

If you only recently got your hub then you wouldn't have had an update,
but yes they do happen, and if you had it a while then you already have your answer.0 -
Routers (Home Hubs) are designed to be left on 24/7/365 and only extreme penny pinchers switch them off. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
