Creeping in with the hope that nobody spots this post - spent just under £10 today, including a couple of discounted items, but my total for month has now reached £60.83... sneaks back out underneath my magical, invisible thread cloak...
Sneaks back in again to FULLY confess - £1.75 of the above was for a loaf of bread because I never got around to baking any yesterday! :eek:I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Galaxy863, do you have a freecycle site in your area? If so someone might have an oven on there.
I have done some baking today. Made two courgette and mushroom pizzas, a courgette, mushroom and lentil curry, some sort of bubble and squeak and a chocolate cake. Tomorrow I shall make apple cake to be served with custard and a banana and coconut cake.
We had the pizzas for tea and tomorrow I'll make toad in the hole with cauliflower and mashed potato.0 -
Thanks Susan 946 that was the recipe I was looking for. It inspired me to buy haricot beans and try the recipe. When I bought the beans there was a recipe on there which sounded brill, but it required maple syrup (which I love the flavour of), and when I priced it at over £4 for the bottle I headed straight back here to find out the OS recipe, thanks for reposting it and thank you Memorygirl for the original recipe. I will give it a go and let you know how they turned out and how popular they were.0

Well as you can see i have totally bombed this month.
I am still writing everything down though as I don't want to get out of the habit and things should be easier next month as i am going to seperate the budget money from the bills money which means that when it's gone it's gone.
I hope it helps me cause somethin has got to stop me spending. On the good side I have bought ALL the Christmas presents we need and we have most of the food we need so that's sorted.
Anne - Congratulations on the new job hun

Well done gtx :T
And you have saved -- it's just that you've used the savings to buy someone a present
Katie - good on you for not giving up completely, and I'm sure you'll find a system that works for youSpreadsheets are the only way to go for me, and (even though I'm looking like I'll make it this month) they make scarey reading when I look at what I've spent on things like milk and (whoopsie) bread rolls over the month compared to my total !!!

Wow, I have just checked how many posts I have done this month and can't believe it is only 12 (this makes 13...:o )... I think I was top of the pile last month, even with trying to cut down.
(for anyone who wants to know how to find out how they are doing, here is Pink-winged's explanation - post 1230, about 6 posts down)
:T :T Everyone is doing really well in minimising chat and posts and the new guidelines certainly seem to be working - I've been able to keep up with the thread and still learn loads... still can't believe we only have 48 pages in this month... Well done to everyone...:T :T
Talking of learning loads and the whole point of this post, BigMumma, you posted a bread roll recipe on here AGES ago, and when I used it in my BM, it worked really well for me, not had so much luck since, would you mind posting again pretty please?
