    Evening all!

Had a bit of luck with the Mr S delivery this weekend - they were 5 mins late and so they gave me a £10 money off voucher for the next shop and free delivery! At tge end of the unpacking I realised that 1 bag wasn't mine so phoned them and was told to keep it for free! It was full of goodies - 2 toblerones, 2 packs of marsh mallows, cereal bars, chocolate buttons multipack, gravy granules, a big pack of crunchy nut cornflakes .... and the list goes on! I'm not sure how much it would have added up to but at least £10!

I also popped in to Mr Ts today and managed to spend £12ish on fruit and dog food! At least there's no more shopping to be done until next weekend and then it should only be the fresh stuff needed (have enough meat and freezer stuff to last to the end of the month).

Off to re-jig the meal planner for the week...(and watch Fringe!)

When you post, do you click on the A above the bit where you write? there is a drop down list next to it and you should see the colours there - just click on red and it will change your font, then type what you want in that colour. (hope that makes sense... )

  • Just nipping back to declare a further spend of £21.54 - on some bits from M&S and a huge tub of pesto which hopefully will do us rest of month. A total of £88.87 spent out of £160 budget. I've also made a big pot of tuscan bean stew which should keep us going for the next couple of days.

I'm planning a trip to Lidl on Friday since I'm at a meeting right next door to one (may as well make use of the petrol!) and will easily spend another £30 then to stock up on oatcakes and tinned tomatos as well as doing my fruit and veg shop for the week....

Hope you guys are all doing well!

    General question for people......

I see plenty of mention of Lidl and Aldi, but was wondering if anyone shops at Netto, and if so what they're particularly good value for?

Forgot we had a 'local' one at what used to be a Kwik Save store until I drove past to pick up over 30kg of discounted dog food on Friday.....

At a 4 mile round trip it's a bit further up than Tesco (which is a 3.5 mile round trip), but I'm heading up to Tesco every day this week for the Daily Mail DVD's anyway -- so wondered if it was worth doing the extra walk to have a look around with a view to using them as an extra shopping base

    Hello everyone,

Just a quick post to update my sig. I only spent £40 this week, which is great. Trying to make up for the wholefood warehousee order which cost £83 earlier in the month. But it will last for ages, some of it.

Good luck this week, one and all.

i'm feeling very proud of myself - yesterday we had roast chicken and i kept a breast for packed lunches today, used the meat from the legs in a casserole and then for the first time ever stripped the carcass (gross but strangely satisfying) and now have 4 tubs of stock in the freezer:T

i'm determined that all i'll be buying between now and pay day if f&v - we really don't need anything else. i've even done next months meal plans and have everything in until the 4th week but i'll still do a weekly shop so don't run out of anything and have a false low spend and then a really high one the month after ifykwim;)

cw18 - i shop in nettos and i get things like flour, eggs, tins beans & spag hoops, cereal, frozen veg, cheese, milk, cooked meats, butter - quite a lot really - we don't think its much good for 'ready meal' type things but since being on this site i make most things from scratch anyway. the meat can be quite good value but i tend to find mr a will have a special offer that works out cheaper - the really good thing is there's not much variety so you're not tempted to deviate from your list and the only thing we really don't like is the fruit, it seems to go bad very quickly

hope everyone has a good day
