Locking wheel nut key
I bought my Car almost two years ago and I have never needed my locking wheel nut key until now and I have discovered that I don't have one!
Are these unique to a particular Car or can I get hold of a generic one for a particular model? Is this going to be costly?

I lost my key and the garage got the locking one off with the drill, i just had to buy 4 new ones. but tbh if they want your wheels they will take them.
It took the garage seconds.
You could try Halfords for a key first tho.0 -

Drilling these out without damaging the wheel can be quite tricky. Last time I had one removed (at a Porsche main dealer), it cost about £120, so reckon on around £400 for all 4.Philip0 -
I lost the wheel nut key for my Focus. My local Indie had a master key and took all 4 nuts off for me for £5. Went straight to Halfords and bought some Mcguard ones for £20."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,

Forget all the replies so far - Too costly.
Get a socket thats about a mil smaller than the bolt, get a sledge and hammer it onto the bolt, then just undo.
If it has a rolling sleeve on the nut fiorst get a flat head and hammer it off then use the sledge and socket.
Total cost - about a fiver for the sockets and a few new bolts.0 -

£120 for five minutes work, sounds about right for a Porsche dealer0 -

And did they let you watch for the few minutes it took them knock a cheap socket on with a lump hammer and remove your lock nut?British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -

I think I prefer maniac886's fiver solution!The man without a signature.0 -
This is what garages and "recovery services" use to remove locking wheel nuts.

Scrap all those answers! I work at a dealership and you could get the correct key for £12! We would use our master set of locking wheel keys to work out which is your variation and then either give you the one out of the set or order one for you for the grand total of £12! No drilling, no sledgehammers, and no new set from Halfrauds or dealer.:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things.
