Plasma TV - technical advice needed!

Options
I am looking at Panasonic plasma televisions, but it is so confusing. I just don't understand what the difference is between the following three models. PLease could one of you clever people enlighten me.

TH-37PX80B
TH-37PX8B
TH-37PX80PED

It just seems to be the letters at the end that are different. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

  • 80B - has shiny black surround, has SD card slot
8B - has matt surround , no SD slot

    B = uk model
SD slot = bit of a novelty, makes it work like a big digital frame

    not sure about PED

I have a 42PX80 - so can cover any Q's on that one (sure 37 and 42 specs similar)

Does "PED" mean it comes with a pedestal stand?

Thanks for the information. I thought that about the pedestal stand, but they all seem to have it.

Now I have just found another letter - TH-37PX80E!! What could that mean?

Thanks for quick response. Are you pleased with your 42PX80? I have read so much information about so many makes, but the Panasonic seems to get really good reviews and some stores are giving a 5 year warranty, which is well worth having.

    Is that the European version?

Most of the sites featuring it seem to be in German or French.
  • E = european

very pleased with PQ, and level of blacks
had it couple of months now so not just the novelty value talking.

    The
    TH-37PX80B

Is the overall better model. Higher 'native contrast' etc

Aren't they basically all the same model with slightly different features?

    I checked panasonics own site
Only the english models are on (So the PED? isnt on)
The one i mentioned has highter contrast ratio 15000 to 1 as opposed to the others 10000-1
This means pictures will look more 'realistic'
Theres probably other differences ~ I didnt read anymore. Just pointing out the 'better model'

Ah, I see. I had assumed they would just have the same specs as they had the same model numbers (though I notice now one of them is missing a zero).

    Shows what I know! ;)
